Abstract

Electrical switch or circuit breaker intended primarily for the protection of motors, providing assurance that if the voltage falls below or to a preset value the circuit breaker contacts open automatically preventing an uncontrollable run - away action. The switching mechanism is controlled by an electromagnet sensitive to the applied voltage causing a latching mechanism to operate on the mobile shaft mounted contacts. The contacting elements are arranged in two rows on an insulating block, the latch and shaft operating from a central cam driven from a shaft (16) external to the switch block.
