Abstract

894,327. Switches held set and freed mechanically. ALLIED CONTROL CO. Inc. June 1, 1960, No. 19374/60. Class 38 (5). In a multipole switch comprising a series of blade contacts 30 riveted to a base 11, a push-button (Figs. 1-3, not shown) or a spring-loaded lever 44 is shown, bears on an insulating plate 31 which overlies all the blades to ensure simultaneous operation. The blades are C- shaped and engage fixed contacts 25. On clockwise rotation of the lever the blades close and pivot about an abutment 14 so ensuring wiping of the contacts. One end of plate 31 engages an abutment 38 on housing 37 when the switch is closed, so preventing tilting.
