Abstract

987,424. Retractive switches. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. April 23, 1963 [July 13, 1962], No. 27088/62. Heading H2B. In an electric switch, energy is stored up in an actuating element consisting of arm portions 16, 18 connected by a resilient " C " shaped portion 19 when a pivoted operating lever 15 is depressed towards the switch cover 10 until it reaches a predetermined position when the energy is released, arm portion 16 pivots about a fulcrum 8a and snaps contact 17 into engagement with fixed contact 2. At the same time the arm portion 16 engages a plate 20, pivoted at fulcrum 8a, and opens contacts 21 and 3. The metal cover 10 has integral resilient tongues 11 shaped for snapping engagement in an aperture in a support.
