Abstract

The joint (2) consists of a central cube with a tapped hole in each face. Short lengths of round rod (4) with a threaded extension are screwed into the tapped holes. The outer end of the rod (4) is provided with a flat surface (24) which forms a rigid location for the boss (22) which is riveted to the wall of the tube (3). When the tube (3) is fitted over the rod (4), it is held securely in place by tightening the grub screw (23) which is screwed into the boss (22). The rods (4) may be made in two parts with a central stud secured by a transverse pin in an outer cylinder.
