Abstract

The joint consists of a T fitting (1) with the extremities of the T being of a smaller diameter than the central portion. Each of the extremeties is provided with a flat which fits a separate segment (2) which has a tapped hole to suit the grub screw (3). The grub screw (3) has a hexagonal socket to suit the key (4). The segment (2) is placed on the flat of the T fitting (1) and the end of the tube is pushed over the two parts. The screw (3) is then tightened with the key (4) so that the segment (2) is forced against the wall of the tube to provide a secure joint.
