Abstract

The connector has a tapped (1a) female part (1). The tube (5) has an insert (4), with gripping ridges (4b) pushed into it. A conical section, slotted sleeve (6) goes round the tube, and a correspondingly shaped threaded sleeve (7) is used to screw the components together. The parts are shaped so that tightening the screw compresses the tube wall between the insert and the slotted sleeve and at the same time compresses a sealing ring (3) between the insert and a face of the female part. Different inserts can be used for different wall thicknesses of the same outside diameter.
