Abstract

The connector (2) has a male thread (3), its bore (4) having a 24 deg. entrant angle (7) and a flat shoulder (12). The hydraulic pipe (10) is inserted into the nut (1) and two compression rings (21, 32) with a spacer (26) between fit over the pipe, inside the nut. The nut is screwed over the male thread, the end (11) of the pipe against the shoulder. The angled face compresses the rings and spacer, their surfaces forming inner and outer seals. Annular ribs bite into the pipe to hold it. This arrangement is used for high pressure circuits. For low pressure circuits, one compression ring only, and a shorter nut, is used.
