Abstract

The first (inner) and second walls (7) and (6) form a water jacket (8). The second and third walls (6) and (3) form a path for outgoing combustion products and the third and fourth (outer) walls (3) and (2) form a second water jacket (4). The two water jackets (8) and (4) are interconnected by tubes (9) and (10) and are connected to the exterior by nozzles and into the inner and outer jackets respectively. A third nozzle is situated at the extreme top of the chamber. The inner chamber is fitted with a water cooled grate (13) immediately above a nozzle (21) forming inlet for secondary air and for ash removal. Above the grate (13) is fitted a manway (24) for charging and lighting the boiler.
