Abstract
1419274 Incinerators IWATANI & CO Ltd 5 March 1973 10600/73 Heading F4B A refuse incinerator comprises a horizontal first combustion chamber 1 and an inclined elongate second combustion chamber 2 communicating with one end of the first chamber, the first chamber having a residue discharge gate 3 at the other end, a flue 5 extending from the upper end of the chamber 2, a charging inlet 4 and a multiplicity of openings 7 for supplying air to both chambers. In the form shown the charging inlet 4 leads to the upper end of chamber 2. In another form (Fig. 7, not shown) it leads into the first chamber. The furnace is cooled by being immersed in a tank 10 of water, there being a steam vent 11 at the top of the tank. The bottom walls of both chambers are made of a thick layer of firebrick, the air supply ducts 8 passing through this layer.
