Abstract

Designed for cross-winding yarns of synthetic fibres, the oscillator on the reciprocating yarn guide is a hollow two-part cylinder defining a slit in a wave form, set in motion by an air line, where the yarn cuts across the wave slit at two points at any one time. The purpose is to allow high-speed winding, where the oscillation packs the yarn in a firm spiral round the bobbin, allowing the operative to make adjustments without disconnecting the oscillating unit.
