Abstract

Piece goods undergoing drying or other processing are fed at high speed on to the surface of a revolving drum without the difficulties of ballooning and creasing following occlusion of air, over the curved and perforated run-off edge of a tapering suction chest, resting against the drum on adjustable sealing rollers. For delicate fabrics the run-off edge is substituted by a roller and the chest sides are extended towards the point of contact of the fabric on the drum, to improve the extraction of air, and add width holders and air jets to ease the handling of the goods.
