Abstract

The arrangement is intended for removing air from the gap between a rotating roller and a continuous moving width of material, such as paper or plastics in contact with the roller. It comprises a scraper element (8) in contact with the roller surface and a sealing strip (7) arranged in the space between roller and material. There may be a number of scraper elements (8-11) in contact with the roller surface. Devices (13, 14) may be provided to divert the air removed from the intermediate space.
