Abstract

1508375 Developing printing plates HOECHST AG 22 April 1975 [24 April 1974] 16571/75 Heading G2X [Also in Division B2] Apparatus for treating a surface of sheet material e.g. a printing plate with liquid e.g. developer includes a rotatable roller brush 4 which brushes the sheet as it moves through the apparatus, the brush rotating in the same direction as the movement of the sheet, and a guide 5 which is positioned where the trailing edge of the sheet contacts the brush periphery and substantially prevents the roller bristles catching under the sheet edge and distorting it. If the sheet is movable through the apparatus in either direction a guide is provided on both sides of the brush. The guide may be a single plate or a number of strips distributed over the sheet width, see Fig.3 (not shown).
