Claims (4)
1. Katalysator för rengöring av avgaser frän för-bränningsmotorer, vilken som bärare innehäller aluminium- 5 oxid ur övergängsserien, innehällande 2-70 vikt-% Ce02 och 0,6 - 20 vikt-% Zr02, och vilken katalysator har en pä bärarämnet utbredd aktiv fas innehällande 0,01 - 3 vikt-% platina, palladium och/eller rhodium, varvid viktförhäl-landet mellan platina och/eller palladium och eventuellt 10 närvarande rhodiumin är 2:1 - 30:1, varvid katalysatorn eventuellt föreligger i form av ett överdrag pä ett ho-nungscellformat, inert, keramiskt eller metalliskt bärar-stycke eller pä ytan av ett skumkeramiskt bärarstycke 5 -30 vikt-%, i förhällande tili bärarstyckets vikt, k ä n -15 netecknad därav, att katalysatorn innehäller 0,1 - 40, företrädesvis 0,5 - 20 vikt-% ZnO, beräknat pä A1203.
2. Katalysator enligt patentkrav 1, k ä n netecknad därav, att den förutom Ce02 och Zr02 som bärarmaterial modifierande komponenter innehäller 0,5 - 20 20 vikt-% Fe203, BaO, CaO, La203 och/eller andra sällsynta j ordartsmetalloxider.
3. Förfarande för framställning av katalysatorer enligt patentkrav 1 eller 2, kännetecknat därav, att man impregnerar ett eventuellt gitterstabilise- 25 rat bärarämne med en vattenlösning av ceriumsalt och zir-koniumsualt eller man blandar ett eventuellt gitterstabi-liserat bärarämne med en vattensuspension av deras oxider, hydroxider eller karbonater och glödgar därefter i luft vid 500 - 900 °C samt därefter impregnerar bärarämne med 30 en vattenlösning av ädelmetallsalter, torkar och behand- lar, eventuellt i en väte innehällande gasström, vid en temperatur pä 250 - 650 °C, varvid ZnO-halten ästadkommes genom att man impregnerar bärarämnet med zinksalt samt cerium- och eventuellt zirkoniumsalt eller man impregnerar 35 det redan färdigt Ce02 och Zr02 innehällande bärarämnet 96747 Innan man tillsätter ädelmetallkomponenterna, med en zink-haltig förening, eller t.o.m. genom att man efterimpregne-rar den färdiga katalysatorn med en löst zinkhaltig förening, sanrt alltid torkar och aktiverar termiskr vid en 5 temperatur pä 150 - 650 °C.
4. Användning av katalysatorer enligt patentkrav 1 eller 2, som oxidations- och/eller reduktionskatalysatorer tili rengöring av avgaser frän förbränningsmotorer under förminskning av svavelväteutsläpp.
