CONSISTE EN HACER REACCIONAR ACETOACETAMIDA CON UN COMPUESTO CON AGRUPACION S-O, DE FORMULA GENERAL (II), EN LA QUE Y ES FLUOR, CLORO, -OSO2F O -OSO2CL, EN PRESENCIA DE BASES. COMO BASES SE UTILIZAN AMINAS TERCIARIAS CON HASTA 15 ATOMOS DE CARBONO, INTERCAMBIADORES DE IONES BASICOS, OXIDOS, HIDROXIDOS, CARBONATOS E HIDROGENOCARBONATOS DE LOS METALES ALCALINOS Y ALCALINOTERREOS.
