Abstract

The sulphonylureas of the formula (I> [R'-SO2-N-CO-NH-Ar-NH-CO-N-SO2-R']<2-> 2 Me<+> (I> in which R' and Me<+> have the meaning given in Patent Claim 1, are prepared by reacting an N,N'-dichlorodicarboxamide of the general formula (II> C1-NH-CO-Ar-CO-NH-Cl (II> and a sulphonamide of the general formula (III> R'-SO2-NH2 (III> in a mixture of dimethylformamide and water in the presence of at least stoichiometric amounts of alkali metal hydroxide at temperatures from 10 to 50 DEG C. The compounds which can be obtained according to the invention are interesting because of their chemotherapeutical activity. They can also be used for the preparation of diisocyanates, which are desirable compounds in polymer chemistry.
