Abstract
Aminobenzoxazolone compounds of the formula II are prepared from compounds of the formula I. The individual substituents here have the meaning given in Patent Claim 1. The esterification and the ring cleavage are carried out using a 1- to 2-fold equimolar amount, relative to mol of SO3, of 92 to 100% strength sulphuric acid at 100 to 180 DEG C with intensive mixing. The compounds of the formula II can be used for the preparation of azo and metal complex azo dyestuffs. <IMAGE>
