Abstract

Un método para la fabricación de un articulo resistente al calor y al desgaste tal como una zapata de freno, comprendiendo dicho método el combinar una mezcla que incluye de 20 a 75 % de fibras hiladas de escoria de alto horno, de 13 a 33 % de una resina fenólica y un modificador, y de 10 a 35 % de baritas en porcentaje en peso aproximado y llevar a cabo dicha combinación bajo presión hasta lograr un molde deseado, situar este molde en una prensa hidráulica y aplicar una presión de 140 kg/cm2 (2.000 P.S.I.) a una, temperatura de entre 140 y 176,7ºC (285-350ºF) durante un periodo de tiempo adecuado, tal como diez minutos, retirar el molde curado y someterlo a una operación de post- curado a una temperatura de entre 148,9° y 176,7°C (300-350ºF) durante un periodo de tiempo da aproximadamente 18 horas, y a continuación enfriar el artículo terminado.
