Abstract
Perfeccionamientos en dispositivos para la producción de radiación ultravioleta, con alta intensidad de radiación, en el cual la radiación es producible termoemisivamente en un tubo de descarga de un diámetro interior que se halla entre 4 y 20mm, que permite el paso de la radiación ultravioleta y dotado de un relleno de gas noble de mercurio, mediante una descarga de gas estabilizada en la pared, que tiene lugar entre dos electrodos, a una presión del mercurio entre 5.10-3 y 5.10-1 TORR, una presión del gas noble entre 0,01 y 10 TORR y una densidad de la corriente de la descarga de gas entre 1 y 25 A/cm2, estando unido el tubo de descarga en sus dos extremos con ampollas en forma de tubo para el alojamiento de los electrodos, caracterizados porque como gases nobles están previstos argón, criptón y/o xenón con una presión de gas que se halla entre 0,01 y 0,5 TORR al estar en servicio el dispositivo, porque el tubo de descarga y las ampollas constan de vidrio de cuarzo dotado, siendo la dotación de tal manera que las líneas en 185 y 194 nm se absorben casi completamente y la línea en 254 nm se transmite apenas sin pérdidas, y porque en el tubo de descarga está prevista una pieza tubular en forma de apéndice destinada a alojar el mercurio condensado y cuya temperatura es ajustable entre 48º y 65ºC.
