Abstract
PURPOSE:To raise the coldest point and obtain sufficiently luminous spectrum intensity by providing electrodes in parallel at one end of a luminous tube and forming a partition wall interrupting between the electrodes by projecting its one end from the other end. CONSTITUTION:In the outer tube 1 made of a light transmissible glass, a luminous tube 6 made of the light transmissible quartz glass filled with a rare gas and mercury is provided, and the sealed portion 7 is provided in sealed manner with the parallel electrodes 10 with the emitter 9 projecting into the luminous tube 6. Also, on the other side opposite to the sealed portion 7, the partition wall 12 is projectionally provided in such a way as to interrupt between the electrodes 10. Thus, because the heat of the emitter 9 conducts through the lead line 8 and also a high-temperature arc curved to the direction of the sealed portion 7 of arc between the electrodes 10 comes near the sealed portion 7 to raise the temperature of the sealed portion 7, the vapor pressure of confined metal is made higher and sufficient luminescence can therefore be obtained.
