Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the luminous efficiency of a fluorescent lamp by providing the domelike head of an outer tube with a hole, through which the point of a projection which is a part of an inner tube projects outside the outer tube, and thereby maintaining the coldest temperature of the inner tube low. CONSTITUTION:The head of a cyrindrical glass outer-tube 1 to which a light- dispersing material 2 is applied is provided with a hole 3, and a lighting device 4 is connected to the other end of the outer tube 1. A projection 7 which projects outside the outer tube 1 through the hole 3 is a part of a glass inner-tube 6, which is connected to the lighting device 4 and is placed within the outer tube 1. Consequently, the temperature of the projection 7, which can make the coldest point of the inner tube 6, can be maintained sufficiently low.
