Abstract

PURPOSE: In a double-tube type incandescent lamp, to elongate the use life of a fluorescent material film and provide efficient luminous characteristic by providing an infrared ray reflecting transparent film between the fluorescent material film formed on the inside wall of an outer tube and the filament of an inner tube.
CONSTITUTION: The inside wall of an outer tube 1 of an incandescent lamp is lined with a fluorescent material film 8 and an infrared ray reflecting transparent film 9. The film 9 may be formed by laying up a TiO2 film, Ag film, and TiO2 film. With the bulb fed with power through a base 7, a filament 2 luminesces visible rays. The infrared rays luminesced together with the visible rays are reflected by the film 9 to the interior of the bulb, and projected to the filament 2. But the infrared rays are not projected to the film 8 to heat it, so that the wall temperature of the outer tube 1 is low. Thus heat loss in the bulb is reduced, luminous efficiency is increased, and deterioration of the fluorescent material is prevented.
