Abstract
Un procedimiento para la obtención microbiológica de proteínas unicelulares a partir de etanol, en el que en un medio de cultivo acuoso con un Ph de 2,5 a 4, conteniendo sales nutrientes, fosfato ácido y sustancias nitrogenadas, en presencia de etanol y oxígeno a temperaturas de 20 a 40º C bajo condiciones aerobias se cultivan en una zona de fermentador levaduras utilizando el etano, separando la biomasa así multiplicada y secándola como producto proteico, caracterizado por el hecho de mantener en continuo movimiento el medio de cultivo mediante un circuito cerrado de circulación, en el que en cada vuelta en un punto del circuito la dirección es tangencial, se le inyecta oxígeno finamente distribuido con un tamaño de 1 a 7 micras, en el que la biomasa obtenida en la zona de fermentación circula a su través sin formación de bolsas de gases, desgaseando fuera de la zona del fermentador, ajustando el tiempo de permanencia de la mezcla formada por gas-líquido-sustancia sólida en la zona del fermentador a 0,2 a 1,0 h-1.
