Abstract

The m-dioxanes correspond to the formula I < IMAGE > the meanings of the symbols being given in Patent Claim 1. The compounds, as well as those which have been partially demethylated at the amine nitrogen, exhibit an excellent analgesic action without producing addiction in the treated patient. The compounds are prepared by reacting a ketone of the formula II < IMAGE > with an amine of the formula < IMAGE > and reducing the resulting enamine catalytically in the presence of hydrogen to give a compound of the formula I.
