Abstract

A reinforced concrete structure comprises a metallic girder 1, Fig 1, with a longitudinally undulating upper flange, Fig. 9, and metallic tie means 3 embedded in the concrete and extending downwardly beside and spaced from the girder. The web of the girder may be formed on each side with anchoring projections, structions or grooves. The metallic tie means may comprise webs of welded latticework or expanded metal or may comprise serpentine or crenellated rods or an inverted U-shaped lattice web embracing the girder. Means for supporting a suspended ceiling may be clamped to exposed edges of the lower flange of the girder, Fig. 18 (not shown).
