Abstract

1,014,119. Suspended ceilings. MATTHEW FORKIN and FORKIN BROTHERS Ltd. April 17, 1964 [June 17, 1963], No. 16014/64. Heading E1V. Ceiling panels 12 are suspended from a grid of strip metal battens 1, 1<SP>1</SP> interconnected by linear, 5, or T-shaped, 8, coupling members having sockets 7 for the transverse battens 1<SP>1</SP> and slots or sockets for the longitudinal battens 1, the panels being supported beneath the battens by inverted U-shaped sheet metal saddle clips 14 with tags 17 arranged to keep the clips at right angles to the battens, projections 20 to locate the clips vertically, and flanges 18 to support the panels. Each clip has recesses 22 in the slot therein, to receive a rib on the web of an inverted T-sectioned plastics cover strip which may be used to cover the joint between adjacent panels.
