Abstract

1.Un aro de pistón metálico adaptado para montarse en una ranura ahusada en un pistón, teniendo dicho aro de pistón paredes laterales ahusadas para enganchar las paredes laterales de la ranura de aro de pistón, caracterizado porque dichas paredes laterales de dicho aro de pistón se extienden en un primer ángulo con respecto a la horizontal al divergen radialmente hacia afuera; dichas paredes laterales de las ranuras de aro de pistón se extienden en un segundo ángulo con respecto a la horizontal al divergen radialmente hacia afuera, siendo dicho segundo ángulo inferior al primero, cada una de dichas paredes laterales de dicho aro de pistón se endurecen en áreas localizadas respectivas, incluyendo cada una de dichas áreas localizadas una banda de material endurecido que se extiende alrededor de cada pared lateral respectiva del aro de pistón cerca de la periferia exterior del aro de pistón, terminado dicha banda endurecida cerca de la periferia exterior del aro de pistón, teniendo dicho aro de pistón debido a la terminación de la banda endurecida cerca de la periferia exterior del aro de pistón unas áreas superficiales laterales no endurecidas en cada lateral, estando situadas dichas áreas superficiales laterales no endurecidas en la periferia exterior del aro y extendiéndose desde la periferia exterior del aro radialmente hacia adentro para finalizar en dicha ranura de aro de pistón. 2.Un aro de pistón como se define en la reivindicación 1, caracterizado además porque cada una de dichas bandas de material endurecido (A, B) comprende una banda arqueada que se extiende por toda la extensión circunferencial de una superficie lateral respectiva del aro de pistón. 3.Un aro de pistón como se define en la reivindicación 1, caracterizado además porque dichas áreas endurecidas localizadas tienen una dureza Rockwell de aproximadamente C 46 y una profundidad de dureza desde 3 a 7 milésimas de pulgada (0,0762 a 0,1778 mm). 4.Un aro de pistón.
