15 The advantage of bonding / nailing to the subfloor is that large continuous floor surfaces can be provided without expansion joint profiles and that the ground can withstand large loads. An additional advantage is that the floorboards do not require any vertical and horizontal system, and that they can be installed according to advanced patterns, for example with long sides attached to short sides. However, this installation procedure that involves the subsoil has a number of considerable disadvantages. The main drawback is that, as the floor boards shrink, a visible bonding strike appears between the boards. The bonding gap can be relatively large, especially when the floorboards are made of moisture-sensitive wood materials. Homogeneous wooden floors that are nailed to a subfloor may have 3-5 mm joint strikes. The distance between the boards can be unevenly distributed with several small strikes and some large strikes, and these strikes are not always

Summary of the invention

    1.- A locking system for mechanically joining floor boards (1, 1 '), comprising a core (30) and a surface layer (31), in whose locking system the joined floorboards have a horizontal plane (HP) that 5 is parallel to the floor surface and a vertical plane (VP) that is perpendicular to the horizontal plane, whose locking system has mechanically cooperating locking means for vertical connection parallel to the vertical plane and horizontal joint parallel to the horizontal plane of a first and second connecting edges (4a, 4b), and in whose locking system the vertical locking means consists of a tongue (10) cooperating with a tongue groove (9), and the horizontal blocking means consists of a blocking element (8) cooperating with a blocking slot 10 (12), in which there is a play between the blocking element (8) and the blocking slot (12), and the nucleus
    (30) is made of HDF and the surface layer (31) is a laminate surface attached to a melamine layer (33) consisting of melamine impregnated wood fibers and which is formed when the surface layer (33) it is laminated to the core (30); characterized in that a groove (133) is formed in such a way that there is a gap between the laminate surfaces and a part of the melamine layers of the adjacent panels (1, 1 ’), and
    15 because the play is at least 0.1 mm and the groove (133) allows the upper joining edges to be compressed at least 0.1 mm when the floor boards are pressed against each other.

     A locking system according to claim 1, wherein the groove (133) has a width of 1-3 mm.
  3. 3.
     A locking system according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the groove (133) is colored, coated or impregnated.
    A locking system according to any one of claims 1-3, wherein the groove depth is 0.2-0.5 mm.
  4. 5. A locking system according to any one of claims 1-4, wherein the contact surface (CS) between the active locking surfaces (14, 15) of the locking element (8) and the groove (12) Locking is approximately 1 mm or less.
    A locking system according to any one of claims 1-5, wherein the floor boards have a width not exceeding 120 mm.
  5. 7. A locking system according to any one of claims 1-6, wherein the floorboards have a width not exceeding 100 mm.
