Dispositivo de dirección para vehículos, con un árbol de dirección (20), que posee una superficie con estructura, con un sensor (35) para la detección del movimiento del árbol de la dirección y con un circuito (40) para la evaluación de las señales de medición del sensor (35), caracterizado porque sobre el árbol de la dirección (20) y/o sobre una instalación conectada por aplicación de fuerza con el árbol de la dirección están previstas microestructuras codificadas (31), porque las microestructuras (31) presentan un espesor de 100 nm a 100 micra m, porque está previsto un sensor (35), que detecta las microestructuras (31) y emite señales de medición asociadas y porque está previsto un circuito electrónico (40), al que se alimentan las señales de medición del sensor (35) y que emite señales electrónicas para el control.
