EL METODO MEJORADO PARA LA PRODUCCION DE CLORO A PARTIR DE SOLUCIONES ACUOSAS DE ACIDO HIDROCLORICO EN UNA PILA DE ELECTROLISIS DE MEMBRANA COMPRENDE UN COMPARTIMIENTO DE CATODO EQUIPADO CON UN CATODO DE DIFUSION DE GAS ALIMENTADO CON AIRE O AIRE ENRIQUECIDO U OXIGENO Y UN COMPARTIMIENTO ANODICO CON UN ANODO PROVISTO CON UN REVESTIMIENTO ELECTROCATALITICO PARA EVOLUCION DE CLORO. DICHO COMPARTIMIENTO DE ANODO ES ALIMENTADO CON UNA SOLUCION ACUOSA DE ACIDO HIDROCLORICO QUE TIENE UNA CONCENTRACION MAXIMA DEL 20% Y UNA TEMPERATURA MAXIMA DE 60 (GRADOS) C, Y QUE CONTIENE UN COMPUESTO DE OXIDACION QUE TIENE UN POTENCIAL DE REDOX DE AL MENOS 0 VOLTS NHE Y PREFERIBLEMENTE DE 0,3-0,6 VOLTS NHE. UN COMPUESTO OXIDANTE ADECUADO ES HIERRO TRIVALENTE EN CONCENTRACIONES COMPRENDIDAS EN EL RANGO DE 100-10.000 PPM. TANTO EL COMPARTIMIENTO ANODICO COMO EL CATODICO DE LA PILA Y SUS ESTRUCTURAS INTERNAS ESTAN FABRICADAS DE TITANIO O ALEACIONES DEL MISMO, COMO 0,2% DE TITANIO-PALADIO. LAS PARTES FABRICADAS DETITANIO EN LAS QUE PUEDE HABER GRIETAS ESTAN PROVISTAS CON UN REVESTIMIENTO PROTECTOR BASADO EN METALES DEL GRUPO DE PLATINO, SUS OXIDOS COMO TAL O COMO UNA MEZCLA DE LOS MISMOS.
