SE PUEDEN OBTENER POLIOLES DE POLIMEROS CON MUY BAJA VISCOSIDAD QUE TIENEN ALTAS PROPORCIONES DE ESTIRENO/ACRILONITRILO Y BUENA ESTABILIDAD MEDIANTE EL USO DE POLIOLES EPOXIDOS MODIFICADOS COMO DISPERSANTES. LOS POLIOLES EPOXIDOS MODIFICADOS, UTILES COMO DISPERSANTES, PUEDEN FABRICARSE MEDIANTE UNO DE ESTOS TRES METODOS: (1) AÑADIENDO INTERNAMENTE LA RESINA EPOXIDO PARA EL POLIOL MODIFICADO, (2) RECUBRIENDO O ACOPLANDO UN POLIOL QUE NO CONTENGA UNA RESINA EPOXIDO CON DICHA RESINA, Y (3) SUMINISTRANDO INTERNAMENTE LA RESINA EPOXIDO PARA EL POLIOL Y COMO UN RECUBRIMIENTO O UN ACOPLADOR. LOS POLIOLES EPOXIDOS MODIFICADOS QUE TIENEN UN HIDROXILO PARA UNA PROPORCION DE EPOXIDO DE, APROXIMADAMENTE, 6, 8 O MENOS, FABRICADA POR ESTOS TECNICOS, SON DISPERSANTES SUPERIORES Y PROPORCIONAN POLIOLES DE POLIMEROS QUE TIENEN CONTENIDOS MAS ALTOS DE ESTIRENO, Y UNA ESTABILIDAD Y UNAS PROPIEDADES DE VISCOSIDAD POTENCIADAS.
