PARA ELLO EL BETA-CETOESTER SE REACCIONA CON UN ACIDO CARBOXILICO, POR EJEMPLO TRIFLUOR ACIDO ACETICO, EN PRESENCIA DE UN CATALIZADOR, ESPECIALMENTE DE UNA SAL "ONIUM" DE UN ACIDO CARBOXILICO DE UNA CANTIDAD EFECTIVA DE UN ACIDO DE LIBERACION DE PROTONES, CON PREFERENCIA DE UN ACIDO SULFONICO COMO ACIDO ALQUILSULFONICO O ACIDO ARILSULFONICO, O SE ESTERIFICA Y DECARBOXILA UN ACIDO MINERAL. EL PROCESO SE REALIZA POR RAZONES DE REGULARIDAD LIBRE DE AGUA. NO SE GENERA POR ELLO NINGUN ACETAL O HIDRATO, DE FORMA QUE SE AHORRA UNA ETAPA DE DESHIDRATACION.
