LA TEMPERATURA HA DE SER LO SUFICIENTEMENTE ALTA COMO PARA HACER QUE EL GAS QUE CONTIENE FLUOR SE DESCOMPONGA Y FORME UN FLUOR QUE IMPURIFIQUE LA PREFORMA. TAMBIEN SE INTRODUCE EN LA APERTURA UNA CANTIDAD SUFICIENTE DE BF3 PARA PREVENIR QUE EL FLUOR REACCIONE CON EL B2O3 EN LA PREFORMA POROSA Y FORME UNA REGION SIN B2O3 CERCA DE LA SUPERFICIE DONDE SE ENCUENTRA LA APERTURA.
