Definitions
- the invention relates to a food packaging, comprising a container made of a foldable cardboard blank, which forms a base, walls and foldable, triangular corner flaps between the walls, a circumferential edge flange projecting from the container made of edge webs provided on the walls and one with the container sealed lid.
- edge webs are provided on the walls, which protrude from the container jacket and complement each other to form a circumferential edge flange.
- the edge webs of opposing walls can be provided with edge tabs that are hammered into the underside of the edge webs and which protrude from the edge webs that are limited to the length of the wall.
- edge webs of the adjacent walls do not have any folded edge tabs and protrude over the length of the wall, the protruding edge tabs overlap with the protruding edge webs in the corner area, whereby the edge webs come to lie in one plane.
- Another way to provide a continuous sealing surface is for the edge webs of the walls to form a butt joint in the corner area, but this requires an additional cardboard frame to be attached to the underside of the edge flange.
- edge webs form a blunt joint in the corner area or overlap one another with folded edge tabs, there is a risk of a leaky seal with the lid.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of creating a gas-tight and liquid-tight sealable food packaging using a container made from a cardboard blank.
- the invention solves the problem in that the edge flange carries a cardboard frame which is connected in a gas-tight manner to the edge flange by an adhesive layer running around the edge flange, which has edge flaps which are folded inwards and surround the edge flange protruding from the container and with which Lid is sealed.
- the cardboard frame which is tightly glued to the edge flange of the container, easily creates a sealing surface for the lid that meets all requirements and is independent of manufacturing tolerances and the design of the edge webs in the corner area. All that needs to be ensured is a gas-tight and liquid-tight connection between the cardboard frame and the surrounding edge flange of the container, which can be ensured without difficulty using a circumferential adhesive layer, especially since the cardboard frame surrounding the container flange on both sides creates a sealing surface to which a corresponding one is attached
- a lid can also be pressed on with higher pressure without any flange steps, joints or impacts being pushed through having to worry about the sealing surface.
- the cardboard frame is aligned with the edge flange without having to take special measures for this.
- the cardboard frame can be cut in sections along the fold lines for the edge flaps. Through the resulting slots, any air bubbles can escape from the adhesive layer while the cardboard frame is pressed against the edge flange.
- a cardboard blank for unfolding a container for food packaging according to the invention forms according to the Fig. 3 the bottom 1, the walls 3, 4 of the container delimited from the bottom 1 by fold lines 2 and triangular corner flaps 5, 6, which are connected to one another by a fold line 7 and fold lines 8 to the adjoining walls 3, 4.
- the walls 3, 4 are provided with edge webs 11, 12 delimited by fold lines 9, 10.
- the walls 3, 4 When unfolding the container from the cardboard blank, the walls 3, 4 are bent up around the fold lines 2 relative to the bottom 1, with the triangular corner flaps 5, 6 being folded against each other around the fold line 7 while simultaneously pivoting around the fold lines 8 on the wall side.
- the corner tabs 5, 6, which are folded either outwards or inwards, are then placed against one of the adjoining walls 3, 4 and glued.
- the corner tabs 5, 6 folded inwards are folded against the inside of the walls 3 and glued to these walls 3.
- the circumferential edge flange 13 does not form a sealing surface for a lid 14, which is usually in the form of a film, but rather carries a separate cardboard frame 15 to form a sealing surface, which is gas- and liquid-tight with the edge flange 13 using a circumferential adhesive layer 16 connected is. Thanks to the adhesive layer 16, any steps, bumps or joints in the course of the edge flange 13 can be compensated for without difficulty.
- a blank for such a cardboard frame 15 is in the Fig. 4 is shown for example.
- the cardboard frame 15 is provided with edge flaps 17 which are folded in along fold lines 18 by 180° around the protruding edge flange 13 of the container, as shown in particular in FIG Fig. 2 emerges.
- the edge flange 13 of the container glued between the cardboard frame 15 and the folded-in, inwardly folded edge flaps 17 of the cardboard frame 15 is not only stiffened by this measure, but also improves the conditions for sealing the lid 14, especially in the case of a Mass production because with appropriate support for the edge flange 13, the lid 14 can be pressed under appropriate pressure onto the sealing surface of the cardboard frame 15, which is flat even under this pressure load.
- the cardboard frame 15 can be cut in sections along the fold lines 18, so that slots 19 are created along the fold lines 18, through which any air pockets can be removed from the adhesive layer 16 when the cardboard frame is glued 15 can escape with the edge flange 13 of the container.
- the cardboard frame 15 is automatically aligned with the edge flange 13, which facilitates the production of the food packaging.
- edge flaps 17 of adjacent legs of the cardboard frame 15 do not overlap one another when they are wrapped around the edge flange 13, an appropriate cut is required.
- the edge tabs 17 form a blunt joint between them, for example in the form of a miter cut according to Fig. 4 , which, however, is by no means mandatory, especially if the aim is to prevent the edge webs 11, 12 of the container and the edge tabs 17 of the cardboard frame 15 from having a matching joint path.

Description
- Fig. 1
- Fig. 2
- einen Schnitt nach der Linie II-II der
Fig. 1 in einem größeren Maßstab, - Fig. 3
- Fig. 4
Fig. 1 entnommen werden kann.
Fig. 4 beispielsweise dargestellt ist.
