- a so-called spawning box In order to protect self-bred aquarium fish from dying by eating, a so-called spawning box is known. This is hung in the actual aquarium tank and is divided into an upper and a lower area. A viviparous or egg-laying mother fish is placed in the upper area of the spawning box to protect the offspring against fish in the aquarium if it can be foreseen that it is about to spawn or give birth. Immediately after birth, the still immobile young animals or eggs fall through a fine-meshed grid into the lower area of the spawning box. This makes it impossible for the fish in the aquarium and the mother fish to eat the offspring.

Une installation de ponte, de naissance et d'élevage pour frai et poissons juvéniles nés vivants contenant au moins un contenant de ponte et de naissance (1) pour recevoir un poisson femelle dans un état de gestation avancé, un contenant d'élevage (2) relié à ce contenant (1) ; une conduite (5) reliée au fond des deux contenants (1, 2) ; un fond intermédiaire (4) monté dans le contenant (1) et ayant au moins une ouverture à travers laquelle le poisson femelle ne peut pas passer, un système de transport pour transporter l'eau provenant du contenant (1) vers le contenant (2), présente les caractéristiques suivantes : les contenants (1, 2) sont des contenants communiquant ; une conduite montante (6) reliée à la conduite (5) est guidée dans le contenant (2) jusqu'à une hauteur située au-dessous du niveau d'eau (b) dans le contenant (1).
