Definitions

  • the invention relates to a canned feed and a method for filling a container for receiving a feed, in particular a wet feed.
  • the U.S. 3,462,037 a lid for a container to be maintained under negative pressure, having a wall made of a first material and provided with a plurality of openings arranged in a cluster; and a closure element of a second material overlying one side of the wall in the region of the cluster of openings and comprising a plurality of sections each sealed in one of the openings, one of the materials being elastically deformable, any desired one of the sections of the closure element can be removed from the associated opening by exerting the required retraction force on the closure element in order to achieve pressure equalization between the container and the surrounding atmosphere.
  • the FR 2 639 002 A1 shows a method for producing a demolding container by means of thermoforming. A cover is applied to a top of a chimney, with removal of the cover allowing air ingress.
  • the DE 201 17 501 U shows a portion container for collapsible products such as pudding or the like in the form of a cup.
  • This has a base in which a closable ventilation opening that can be opened from the outside is formed. In transport condition the ventilation opening is closed by a removable seal label.
  • the U.S.A. 4,154,345 shows a thermoplastic container with a vent structure to improve dispensing of food from the container.
  • a deep-drawn projection is provided which can be punctured with a fingernail or a fork in order to bring about ventilation in the bottom area of the container.
  • the FR 2 639 002 A1 and the DE 201 17 501 U1 show more containers for food.
  • wet food in conventional tins should also be retained, in particular high acceptance by the animal, shelf life without refrigeration preferably for at least two years, stackability and robustness of the packaging, while the packaging should still be easy to open, and the possibility of large-scale production Production and filling or serial production.
  • an opening member operatively associated with the base for opening a hole in the base or by a method of making one container, it is possible to place the container or canned food on a surface with the bottom surface upwards. A hole in the floor surface can then be opened with the opening element. It is thus possible for a feed to slide from the container (almost) in its entirety and without any significant change in shape onto the surface, since air can flow through the hole into the receiving space above the feed. Furthermore, even if the discharge opening faces downwards, the feed can thus be kept in the receiving space until the hole is opened.
  • the preferably provided application of an inner coating to the side of the lateral surface and the bottom surface facing the receiving space can positively influence the adhesion of the feed to the respective surfaces and can be adjusted in such a way that the feed can simply slide out.
  • the interior coating is advantageously applied in two steps: first the primer is applied and then an anti-stick coating is applied.
  • the release agent which is preferably edible (for the respective animal), can also serve to positively influence adhesion.
  • the bottom surface has a hole, which hole is closed with the opening element, which is removable.
  • the opening element thus represents in particular a removable seal of the hole.
  • the opening element especially if it is used to close the hole in the bottom surface like a seal, should withstand the high sterilization temperatures to which such a container is usually exposed after it has been filled (and possibly closed), and also over the storage time stay closed.
  • Elastic or viscoelastic materials are therefore particularly suitable as the material for the opening element.
  • the opening element consists of a polymer or a plastisol, eg materials containing PVC or plastisols or materials containing silicone, or combinations thereof. It is also conceivable that the opening element is made from a different material (eg aluminium, plastic and/or plastic compound, etc.).
  • the hole to be opened and/or the hole already present in the bottom surface should be as large as possible so that the air can flow through as much as possible, and on the other hand it should be as small as possible so as not to reduce the security of the closure and the stability of the container. In addition, it should be possible to withstand pressure fluctuations that occur during the autoclaving process.
  • the hole is essentially circular.
  • the hole diameter or an average extension of the hole parallel to the surface when the container is standing is between 1 and 10 percent, particularly preferably between 3 and 6 percent, of the average extension of the bottom surface parallel to the surface is equivalent to.
  • the container In the standing position, the container stands on the floor surface; the lateral surface points essentially upwards. In this standing position, the container is usually filled.
  • the bottom surface When storing the container, the bottom surface usually faces up; i.e. it stands, for example, on the circumference defining the discharge opening.
  • a pre-embossing or partial punching can also be provided in the bottom surface, with the opening element serving to remove a correspondingly delimited part of the bottom surface from the bottom surface in order to form the hole.
  • the opening element can in particular be a spur or lifting tab or lifting projection, through which the delimited/pre-embossed part can be removed or pushed out of the bottom surface.
  • a tab is also conceivable as an opening element, through which the delimited/pre-embossed part of the base area can be pulled or torn out of it.
  • the lateral surface has a cross section that increases in the emptying direction of the container. Thus, the food comes off immediately when falling
  • the emptying direction is the direction that is normal to the bottom surface (or, if the bottom surface is not substantially flat, that is normal to the surface when the container is in the standing position) and from the bottom surface to the opening formed by a periphery of the lateral surface remote from the bottom surface, through which a feed can be emptied shows.
  • the lateral surface and the bottom surface essentially have the shape of the lateral surface and the top surface of a truncated cone. It is preferably a straight cone stub whose top surface and base surface are parallel and whose height is normal to the top surface.
  • the container is in the form of a standard wet cat food can.
  • the bottom surface and/or the lateral surface on the side facing the receiving space have an inner coating, preferably having a primer and/or an anti - Adhesive coating, with the primer preferably having a polyester resin, in particular a modified and/or aluminum-pigmented one, and/or having a surface density of between 9 g/m 2 and 10 g/m 2 and preferably the non-stick coating being a polyester, a phenolic resin and/or a polyester phenolic resin and/or has an areal density of between 7 g/m 2 and 9 g/m 2 .
  • the inner surface of the container is as smooth as possible, eg microscopically smooth.
  • the inner coating preferably serves to ensure that the feed does not stick to the container even at sterilization temperatures of more than 110°C. It is also advantageous if the container is dusted with various oils and separating agents, such as oil and xanthan, before filling, in order to significantly increase the possible effect of the inner coating.
  • a protective and/or adhesive coating is preferably applied to the opening element on the floor surface in the receiving space sealed hole applied.
  • the protective and/or adhesive coating is intended to prevent corrosion in the hole area in the case of corroding can materials.
  • the protective and/or adhesive coating can serve to improve adhesion of the opening means to the floor surface, so that it cannot transfer into or onto the feed if it falls, for example.
  • a partial surface of the bottom surface has an indentation in the direction of the receiving space, the indentation having the hole to be opened and the opening element preferably lying within the indentation and/or having a smaller extent in relation to the emptying direction than a foremost point in relation to the emptying direction or foremost perimeter of the lateral surface.
  • the opening element can, for example, be operatively connected to the floor surface in such a way that a user only has to run a finger or a fingernail along the floor surface in order to slide or lift the opening element in such a way that the hole is opened. Provision can also be made for the opening element to have a tab, with the tab preferably lying in the indentation in the bottom surface. A user can thus pull on the tab to open a hole in the bottom panel with the opening element operatively connected to the bottom panel.
  • the opening element can also be in the form of a tab.
  • the opening element has an elastic or viscoelastic material, preferably a polyvinyl chloride plastisol and/or silicone. This is particularly advantageous when the bottom surface has the hole which is closed by the opening element and which is closed by the opening element as a seal.
  • the opening element is applied, for example, to the punched hole, preferably both from the side facing away from the receiving space and from the side facing the receiving space.
  • a cover is provided for closing the opening formed by a periphery of the lateral surface facing away from the bottom surface.
  • the cover preferably has an edge section (e.g. a cover ring) which is firmly connected to the lateral surface, and a removable pull-off section which is detachably connected to the edge section and which is preferably made of aluminum and/or tinplate and/or a plastic and/or has a plastic composite.
  • the edge section is permanently connected to the lateral surface, for example by folding or flanging.
  • the removable pull-off section can be glued or eye-sealed onto the edge section, for example, or can be in one piece with it, with a part-punched predetermined tear point being provided.
  • the resulting opening after removing the pull-off section should be flush with the rest of the lateral surface so that there is no obstacle in the way of the feed when it is emptied. It is therefore preferred if the edge section on the side facing the opening is flush with the lateral surface in the direction of emptying. This means that the inner wall of the lateral surface, ie the wall of the lateral surface that comes into contact with the feed when the container is filled is flush with the edge section. This means that the edge section does not protrude into the area of the opening formed by the circumference of the lateral surface, when viewed in the direction of emptying, and does not stand in the way of part of the feed during emptying. Thus, the feed can be tipped out of the container essentially in one piece and without changing its shape.
  • the peel-off portion is adhesively bonded or sealed to the edge portion, a corresponding bearing surface of the edge portion to which the peel-off portion is adhered/sealed should face away from the opening.
  • the pull-off section can be removed by a partial punching, the partial punching should essentially follow and/or lie outside the circumference of the lateral surface forming the opening, but not within the circumference; each viewed in the emptying direction.
  • the opening-forming circumferences of the outer surface of feed containers in particular feed cans, to have an edge section, flange, lips or folds, for example to increase stability or to enable a connection to a lid.
  • the jacket surface has a surface that protrudes from its periphery facing away from the bottom surface and points away from the opening. This area can e.g. on the one hand serve to give the lateral surface and the container overall stability and on the other hand serve to close the container with a lid.
  • the bottom surface and/or the lateral surface has a metal, e.g. aluminum, iron, steel or mixtures thereof, in particular a sheet metal, e.g. made from the aforementioned base materials, and/or a plastic and/or plastic composite.
  • a metal e.g. aluminum, iron, steel or mixtures thereof
  • a sheet metal e.g. made from the aforementioned base materials, and/or a plastic and/or plastic composite.
  • the feed by receiving the feed in the receiving space of a container as described herein, it can be achieved that the feed can be emptied/dropped out of the container almost without residue, in its entirety and/or without the use of tools or without soiling the fingers.
  • a release agent applied as an aerosol to the side of the lateral surface and the bottom surface facing the receiving space preferably a mixture of between 0.1 and 10 percent by weight of xanthan and between 90 and 99.9 percent by weight of oil, particularly preferably of between 0, 5 and 3 wt.% xanthan and between 97 and 99.5 wt.% oil, more preferably substantially 1 wt.% xanthan and 99 wt.% oil which substantially separates feed from the shell and bottom surfaces.
  • the adhesion of the feed to the container is reduced by the separating agent, so that it can be detached from the container more easily.
  • the effect of an inner coating of the container can also be improved.
  • the separating agent is preferably applied (before the container is filled) as a finely atomized aerosol, which can prevent it from settling in the feed.
  • the feed when the feed consists of two essentially spatially separate (not mixed) components, the pH of the two components preferably being less than 1, particularly preferably less than 0.5, and/or the salt content of the both components preferably by less than 5 percent, more preferably less than 2.5 percent of the salt content of the components with the lower salt content and/or the water activity value of the two components preferably by less than 0.2, more preferably by less than 0 ,1, differs.
  • two components By using two components, one component preferably being arranged in such a way that it essentially covers the second component after the feed has been thrown out of the container, a particularly attractive feed can be achieved and, for example, acceptance by the to feeding animal are increased. Because of the similarities in composition of the components, it is possible to prevent the two components from mixing or mass migration between the two components, particularly during long-term storage. Furthermore, the consistency of the two components should advantageously be similar so that an animal which is to be fed the feedstuff is not irritated.
  • the two components are preferably a paste and a sauce.
  • the two components are provided, in particular, in areas in the receiving space that are oriented parallel to the bottom surface/top surface.
  • the paste is provided in an area closer to the lid and the sauce in an area closer to the bottom.
  • the paste comes out first, which is immediately poured over by the sauce that flows on.
  • the total volume of the feed i.e. the total volume of the two components, it is preferred if one component, in particular the paste, accounts for at least 20 percent by volume and/or the other component, in particular the sauce, accounts for at least 20 percent by volume.
  • the lateral surface and the bottom surface can be produced, for example, using conventional methods, with an inner coating then preferably being applied to the side of the lateral surface and the bottom surface facing the receiving space and then the bottom surface being operatively connected to the opening element connected to open a hole in the bottom surface.
  • This variant of the method represents a particularly simple possibility of producing an opening element, which is operatively connected to the base surface, for opening a hole in the base surface. Furthermore, the application of the material composition of the opening element from both sides leads to improved tightness.
  • a particularly good detachment of the feed or both components of the feed from the container can be achieved by providing a separating agent.
  • FIG. 1 shows an advantageous embodiment of the container 1 according to the invention from the side, in a cross section normal to the surface 2 in the standing position of the container 1.

  • the opening 6 is closed by a cover 7 .
  • the lid 7 has a rim portion 12 and a peel-off portion 14 .
  • the bottom surface 3 and the lateral surface 4 of the container 1 essentially form the top surface and the lateral surface of a truncated cone, with the lid 7 essentially corresponding to the base of the truncated cone.
  • the bottom surface 3 has in the indentation 8 in the direction of the receiving space 5 a hole 10 closed by the removable opening element 9 to which the bottom surface 3 is operatively connected.
  • the opening element 9 adheres to both the side of the base surface 3 facing the receiving space 5 and the side facing away from the receiving space 5 .
  • the hole 10 can be opened by removing the opening element 9, so that air can pass through the hole 10 into the container 1, in particular between the bottom surface 3 and the feed with which the container 1 can be filled.
