Definitions
- the invention relates to a steel mast of box-section construction.
- Such steel masts are erected, for example, to carry signaling devices, catenary systems or other line systems.
- the task is to equip such steel masts with as little material as possible for high loads and high torsional rigidity.
- the steel mast should cause a low wind load and have a visually appealing, slim design. Due to the design, the height of the mast should be easily adaptable to the requirements and it should be easy to mount on foundations such as driven piles, concrete driven piles, steel driven piles and foundations of all kinds.
- a steel mast that is light and stable but still cheap and quick to produce is, for example, in U.S. Patent 2,492,882 described.
- the cross section according to the invention decreases from the foot of the mast to the head of the mast, being formed over at least a large part of its height from web plates and flange plates which are alternately connected, preferably welded, to one another at an angle.
- the web plates are connected to the flange plates at a distance along the flange plate edges, as a result of which flange plate projections extending over the height of the mast are formed.
- a mast base plate is provided at the mast base, which can be connected or is connected to the ground or a foundation.
- the mast base plate can preferably be fastened to fastening bolts of the foundation by means of screw connections.
- the mast base plate has a cutout corresponding to the outer contour of the mast, with the mast in this cutout is welded. This increases the strength of the connection between the mast and the mast base plate.
- the mast can be erected on any suitable foundation such as conventional concrete block foundations with cast-in bolts, concrete step foundations with cast-in bolts, driven or bored piles with reinforced concrete heads and cast-in bolts, steel piles with connecting bolts, etc.
- the web plates can be provided with web recesses.
- the recesses can also only be provided at a certain distance from the ground.
- the mast base plate can be fastened to the fastening bolts at a distance from the foundation by means of a nut and lock nut or washers, the space between the mast base plate and the foundation being filled with grout, concrete or synthetic resin.
- the steel mast with its mast base plate can be fastened or fastened to the fastening bolts with distance mounting, counter nuts being provided as alignment nuts for aligning the mast.
- the lower ends of the web plates and/or the flange plates of the mast can protrude through the mast base plate and can be welded on both sides.
- One or more filling openings for introducing a filling compound can be provided on the mast base plate.
- One or more stiffening plates are provided in the steel mast, which are fastened to at least two web or flange plates lying opposite one another and protrude through the inner cross-section of the mast.
- the mast head is preferably provided with a mast head plate (3) which closes the mast at the top.
- stiffening struts extending from the mast base plate to the flange plates and/or web plates can be provided.
- the steel mast according to the invention offers advantages over known mast constructions. Compared to flat frame masts, the invention offers greater resistance to loading on the so-called weak side, which is a disadvantage of such flat frame masts.
- the load on the weak side is usually only from wind forces. Due to the higher load strength of the entire mast according to the invention, the load on the other strong side can be increased at the same time.
- the invention has greater torsional rigidity.
- the invention offers the advantage of a lower wind load, since there is a reduced cross-section in height. This is particularly advantageous with long masts. As a result, the maximum load on the base of the mast or on the foundation can be reduced with the same assembly and equipment of the mast. It should be remembered that with high masts, the wind load on the mast sometimes makes up 50% or more of the total load for the design of the mast.
- the invention also offers greater torsional rigidity with less steel being used.
- the steel mast according to the invention is formed from two flange plates and two web plates. The two web panels can be designed with weight-reducing and architecturally appealing cut-outs. The two flange plates and web plates are attached to the mast foot on the mast foot plate, preferably welded, and taper with increasing height. Compared to previously known profile masts, a greater spread and a higher load limit can be achieved at the base.
- the web plates also taper with increasing height.
- the two flange plates, in connection with the two web plates, form a rectangular box profile that tapers with increasing height. This brings with it high torsional rigidity and greater resistance to loads from all sides.
- the mast is terminated at the mast head with a horizontal mast head plate.
- the length of the mast can advantageously be shortened in defined steps (e.g. 0.25 m or 0.5 m) at the mast head. This allows smaller mast lengths to be produced, with all other dimensions remaining the same. This makes simple and consistent production possible.
- the mast head can again be limited with the standardized horizontal head plate, on which standardized mast extensions or other devices can be mounted if required.
- the strength of the mast can be adjusted by appropriate choice of sheet metal thicknesses for the formation of the web plates and flange plates. This means that higher load limits can be achieved for the mast with otherwise the same dimensions.
- horizontal reinforcement plates can be welded into the clear inner width of the mast at defined intervals.
- the mast foot plate and also the mast head plate also serve to stiffen the mast.
- stiffening struts and gusset plates can be attached, in particular welded, to improve the load transfer to the mast foot.
- the flange plate overhangs that reach along the mast allow the use of clamps for the attachment of fastening parts in order to be able to connect the required equipment to the mast.
- the mast is placed on its foundation on fastening bolts and fixed with appropriate nuts.
- the inclination of the mast can be adjusted by using washers or alignment nuts below the mast base plate. Any resulting space between the mast base plate and the foundation can be filled and sealed with grout, concrete or e.g. synthetic resin.
- the filling of the gap is facilitated by suitable measures, such as the arrangement of filling openings and the chamfering of the corners of the mast base plate.
- the steel mast is shown in a view of one of the web plates 1.
- the web plates 1 extend from the mast foot plate 2 to the mast head plate 3, the distance between the two web plates 1 tapering towards the mast head 4.
- the web plates 1 are provided with web recesses 5, which reduces the weight of the mast and the use of materials without adversely affecting the strength of the structure.
- the web recesses 5 reduce the wind load on the mast.
- the web recesses 5 are also used for a more attractive optical design.
- the size and shape of the web recesses 5 is only shown as an example and can be adapted to the requirements. In order to make unauthorized climbing more difficult, it can be advantageous to only provide the recesses from a greater height above the ground.
- the box section of the steel mast is further completed by the flange plates 6, which also extend from the mast base plate 2 to the mast head plate 3.
- the flange plates 6 and the web plates 1 are welded to one another along the entire length of the mast.
- a stiffening plate 7 is drawn in dashed lines at a mast height, which is arranged inside over the entire mast cross section and is connected, in particular welded, to the web plates 1 and flange plates 6 . Distributed over the height of the mast, several stiffening plates 7 can also be arranged, as required by the load to be absorbed and the necessary torsional rigidity.
- the mast base plate 2 and the mast head plate 3 are welded to the web plates 1 and flange plates 6, with stiffening struts 8 also being able to be welded on to increase the strength.
- the height of the steel mast can be shortened in a simple manner by cutting through the steel mast at a suitable point and welding the mast head plate 3 onto the remaining part of the steel mast.
- FIG. 1 also shows schematically in a broken representation the foundation 9 on which the mast rests and is fastened via the mast foot 10 .
- fastening bolts 11 are cast, with which the mast is bolted.
- the 2 shows a top view of the mast base plate 2 on the foundation 9. The cross section of the mast resting on the mast base plate 2 is also shown.
- the flange plates 6 are connected to one another by means of the two web plates 1, as a result of which the box profile is formed.
- the web plates 1 are slightly offset inwards from the flange plate edges 12 , so that flange plate overhangs 13 are formed along the edges of the flange plates 6 .
- the mast base plate 2 has four fastening holes 14 for receiving the fastening bolts 11 .
- Filling openings 15 are provided for any filling of gaps between the mast base plate 2 and the foundation 9, and the chamfer 16 can also facilitate the filling of the gap.
- the 3 shows the arrangement in the area of the mast base 10 in a side view.
- the fastening bolts 11 protrude upwards from the foundation 9, which can be a concrete pile, for example, and the mast base plate 2 is screwed to them with nuts 18 and possibly lock nuts 17.
- the orientation of the mast can be changed by appropriately adjusting the lock nuts 17 located below the mast base plate 2, for example to compensate for an undesired inclined position or to achieve a desired inclined position.
- the lock nuts 17 can also be replaced by washers or base plates or these can be added to them.
- the intermediate space that has arisen between the mast base plate 2 and the foundation 9 is preferably filled with a casting compound 19, which can be a casting mortar, concrete or plastic, for example.
- a casting compound 19 can be a casting mortar, concrete or plastic, for example.
- the fortification can also be done with distance mounting, whereby the alignment of the mast is done with the lock nuts 17.
- the 4 shows the inventive design of the mast base 10.
- the mast is not closed by the mast base plate 2, but open.
- the mast base plate 2 is cut out according to the outer contour of the mast and the mast is pushed into the cutout 20 so that it can be welded to both sides of the mast base plate 2 .
- This increases the strength of the connection of the mast to the mast base plate 2.
- the mast can protrude with a small overhang 21 downwards.
- the free opening also makes it easier to galvanize the mast construction, since the zinc can flow in and out better.
- this configuration according to the invention is particularly advantageous for spaced assembly.
- the weld seams above and below the mast base plate can be made simpler than with butt-welded masts and reinforcements such as gusset plates can be omitted or reduced.

Description
- In
- In
Fig. 4 zeigt die erfindungsgemäße Ausgestaltung des Mastfußes 10.
