Description

Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Datenseite sowie eines Buchblocks für ein buchartiges Dokument sowie Datenseite für ein buchartiges DokumentMethod for producing a data page and a book block for a book-like document and a data page for a book-like document

The invention relates to a method for producing a data page for a book-like document, in particular a value and / or security document, as well as a method for producing a book block for a book-like document. The invention also relates to a data page for such a book-like document.

Such security documents can in particular be passport documents which are typically present in booklet or book form and in which a data page storing information is linked to the passport document. This data page is, for example, a passport book card or passport card that is integrated into the passport document. On this passport book card are personalized data and other data, e.g. B. Information on the issuing authority. This passport book card must be connected to the other inside pages of the passport document in such a way that a third party cannot tear the passport book card out of the document in order to forge or falsify the passport document. In addition, it is necessary that by integrating this passport book card by means of a tab, an unlocking behavior of the passport document is improved so that the passport document also remains closed after a one-time opening and subsequent closing in order to prevent optical reading of the information.

From the DE 10 2012 213 913 A1 the production of a passport book card is known in which the connection of a textile strip material takes place as a tab on a data carrier to form a passport book card. The flap made of a textile tape material is positioned so that it overlaps a long side or side edge of the data carrier. The tab is then connected to the data carrier in the overlap area by welding. Here, in particular, ultrasonic welding takes place, in which an anvil and a sonotrode be positioned outside the overlap area in order to subsequently connect the tab to the data carrier in the overlap area by ultrasonic welding. In doing so, the tab preferably digs into the data carrier.

From the DE 10 2012 112 383 A1 a method for producing such a data page for a book-like document is known. A flexible tape material to be attached to it is fed to a data carrier, so that an area of overlap with the data carrier is formed. The band material, which is provided by an endless band, is then cut off, so that after the flap has been positioned, forming an overlap area, it can be permanently connected to the data carrier.

When a textile band material is used to form a flap, open cut edges occur in that the individual threads or fibers of the textile band material curl up or curl up. This can weaken the tab at the interface.

From the EP 1 878 589 B1 a data page according to the preamble of claim 8 and a method for producing a data page for an identification document are known which comprises a data carrier with a flap made of textile tape material attached to it. A sealing compound is applied over the entire surface of a protruding area of the tab.

From the WO 2016/196 723 A1 Furthermore, a data page for a passport book is known which comprises a data carrier with a flap made of a textile tape material attached to it. A sealing surface is made in the front end area of the tab. A seal is embossed in the form of a zigzag line.

From the DE 10 2014 110 585 A1 a method for producing a data page is known which comprises a data carrier with a strap made of textile tape material attached to it. A sealing compound is applied over the entire surface of the middle layer, which also forms the flap.

The invention is therefore based on the object of a method for producing a data page and a method for producing a book-like document as well as a data page for a book-like one To propose document, whereby a closed edge termination is achieved at the interfaces of the flap.

This object is achieved by a method according to claim 1, in which the flap is brought together with a data carrier which has a rough dimension, the front edges of which have a greater distance than a distance between cutting lines to form side edges of the data carrier in the final format and in the At least one sealing surface is introduced into the tab in the respective end area, within which the cutting line for the end format of the data carrier runs. As a result, the interface of the textile band material for forming the flap in the final format is sealed at the respective end regions and a closed edge closure of the cut textile band material is achieved. This prevents the textile band material from curling.

To form the sealing surface, at least one surface of the textile strip material is melted. One free surface is melted in the overlapping area and both surfaces are melted in the protruding area of the tab. This enables the free ends of the threads and / or fibers of the textile band material to be connected to one another in a materially bonded manner and to fuse, so that a sealed edge seal is created.

A woven, knitted, knitted fabric, felt or fleece made of one or more meltable substances is preferably used as the textile tape material. As a result, when the temperature is introduced, the threads and / or fibers can be melted to fuse with one another in order to form the sealing surface.

Meltable textile materials are preferably used as textile materials for the tab, which are preferably formed entirely or partially from plastic (polymer), in particular from thermoplastic plastic. A thermoplastic plastic, a polyester, for example polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is preferably used. The textile material can preferably be formed at least partially from polyester. The melting point or the glass transition temperature of the fusible material is preferably adapted to the material properties of the data carrier. The melting and / or glass transition temperature of the tab and the data carrier are preferably similar (for example within a temperature range of 50 ° C.) so that the welding process can be carried out easily and without errors. In addition, the textile material can partly consist of cotton. For example, a cotton-polymer mixture, in particular a cotton-polyester mixture, can also be used. Furthermore, the tab can be formed from at least two different materials (mixed fabrics), one of which melts when the tab is welded to the data carrier and the other material does not bond to the data carrier during the welding process.

Furthermore, the data carrier is preferably formed from one or more layers and the one or more layers are used from one or more plastic materials to form a data carrier or a data carrier in the laminate composite. In this way, in particular, a good connection of the textile tape material for formation on the data carrier can be made possible. For example, welding can take place, as a result of which at least the textile tape material can claw with the data carrier. The data carrier is preferably formed from a polycarbonate or from a polycarbonate derivative. Furthermore, other plastics can be provided to form the data carrier, in particular bisphenol-A polycarbonate, carboxy-modified PC, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), its derivatives, such as glycol-modified PET (PETG), carboxy-modified PET, polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyvinyl butyral (PVB), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), polyimide (PI), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polystyrene (PS), polvinylphenol (PVP), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), in particular thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS) and / or their derivatives or made of paper and / or Cardboard or mixtures of the aforesaid materials. The material for the data carrier is preferably formed at least partially from polycarbonate or from a polycarbonate derivative.

Another preferred embodiment of the method provides that the textile tape material to form the flap is fed to the data carrier as an endless tape and the textile tape material is welded to the data carrier in the overlap area without separation from the endless tape and the flap is separated from the endless tape at the same time as the sealing surfaces are formed . This enables process-optimized production, since the sealing surfaces are introduced into the tab at the same time as the method step of separating the tab from the endless belt.

Alternatively, the textile band material can be separated from the endless band at the same time as the data carrier is welded in the overlapping area or afterwards, and the sealing surfaces can then be introduced. According to the first alternative, the endless belt can be severed and welded in one process step. Often, due to the requirements for the connection of the flap to the data carrier in the overlapping area, it is necessary to separate the endless belt only afterwards. As a result, according to the second alternative, a flexible exchange of the device for welding the tab in the overlap area to the data carrier is made possible, in particular if different security elements are to be introduced at the same time by means of the device for welding the tab in the overlap area to the data carrier.

Furthermore, the cutting line for forming the side edge of the data carrier in the final format within the sealing surface is preferably provided in such a way that a sealing surface section extends on both sides of the cutting line. As a result, when tolerances occur to form the cut edge in the final format, the side edge to be formed is the sealing surface transversely and thus a closed and sealed edge closure of the flap is provided.

Furthermore, the data carrier is cut to a final dimension along the cutting line after the sealing surface has been introduced. The cutting edge thus formed runs transversely to the longitudinal axis of the tab and extends through the sealing surface. This can ensure that a sealed edge of the tab remains after the cut edge has been attached to a final dimension of the data carrier.

Furthermore, the data carrier is preferably personalized before or after the tab is attached. The personalization of the data carrier before the tab is attached is preferably used when a book-like document is produced at a central production facility. Subsequent personalization is particularly intended for decentralized passport book production.

To improve the haptic properties of such a data page, according to a first embodiment, a smoothing layer can be applied to the tab. Furthermore, a smoothing layer can be applied at least in a joint area which is formed between the tab and the data carrier in order to cover this joint area. Furthermore, a smoothing layer can be applied in the overlap area between the tab and the data carrier. The smoothing layer can also be applied in the overlap area and with a small protrusion over the joint area into the data carrier. Any combination of the above embodiment is also possible. This smoothing layer can be applied independently of the application of a sealing compound. A sealing compound can also be applied first and then a smoothing film. The smoothing layer is preferably designed as a film or foil and is connected to the data page by welding or lamination.

The smoothing layer can also be produced by printing technology. For example, this smoothing layer can be applied using the screen printing process. In addition, design elements can be provided in or on the smoothing layer. These can be used at the same time as the Screen printing process are applied or in a subsequent process step.

The object on which the invention is based is further achieved by a method according to claim 7, in which a data page with at least one sealing surface, which is produced according to a method for producing the data page according to one of the preceding claims, is brought together with the inner pages to form a stack, the inner sides and the tabs of the data carrier are connected to one another and then the inner sides and the tab with the data carrier are punched or cut together along the cutting line to a final format of the data page.

By introducing the sealing surface into the flap of the data carrier, through which the cutting line for the final format of the data page runs, a sealed edge seal is maintained at the interface of the textile strip material of the flap. By introducing the sealing surface into the textile tape material, it is preferably also at least partially fused to the data carrier. As a result, this edge termination is designed as a uniform and continuous cut edge, so that there is neither a puckering nor a splicing of threads and / or fibers of the textile tape material. In addition, splitting the front edge of the data page to separate the tab from the data carrier is made more difficult by manipulation.

The object on which the invention is based is further achieved by a data page according to claim 8, in which the tab on the respective narrow end face has a sealing surface which extends at least slightly from the cut edge of the data carrier in the final format to the opposite end face. As a result, a closed edge seal is maintained even if tolerances occur during the introduction of the cut edge into the data carrier in the final format.

The sealing surface extends along the end face of the tab at least over the protruding area, over the entire width. This results in a clean, sealed edge of the cut textile strip material. The width of the sealing surface is equal to or less than the length of the sealing surface along the cut edge or face of the tab.

Furthermore, the sealing surface is strip-shaped and is designed to be adjacent to the end face of the data carrier. It has been shown that a narrow strip-shaped area is sufficient to form a sealed edge termination.

Furthermore, the textile tape material is melted in the overlap area and is firmly connected to the data carrier. As a result, even when a cut is made to form the final format of the data carrier, the threads and / or fibers of the textile tape material can be prevented from ruffling, fraying or fanning out.

The width of the sealing surface is preferably selected such that it is wider than the tolerances that occur for introducing the cut edge of the data carrier onto the final format.

Furthermore, the textile tape material for forming the flap in the overlap area is preferably at least partially welded between the two sealing surfaces adjoining the frontal cut edges. At least the outermost layer of the data carrier is clawed with the textile tape material in the overlap area in order to achieve a secure connection of the textile tape material to form the flap.

The tab of the data page for tying it to the data carrier is preferably designed as a textile tape material in the form of a woven, knitted fabric, fleece or felt made of one or more meltable substances.

The data carrier of the data page preferably consists of one or more layers, which are made of one or more materials, in particular made of plastic. The data carrier can also consist of a laminate composite.

An advantageous embodiment of the data carrier provides that at least one smoothing layer is applied to the tab and / or to a joint area between the tab and the data carrier and / or to an overlap area formed by the tab and the data carrier. This smoothing layer can represent additional protection, in particular when the joint area is covered, and enable improved haptics.

The smoothing layer preferably consists of a film or foil made of a plastic material which has a lower melting point than an outer layer of the data carrier. As a result, the smoothing layer can be melted and connected to the data side, that is to say the tab and / or the data carrier, with a low input of energy, without the materials of the tab and / or the data carrier being completely melted. Melting it may be sufficient. This also optimizes the process time.

The invention and further advantageous embodiments and developments thereof are described and explained in more detail below with reference to the examples shown in the drawings.

In Figure 1 a book-like document 11, in particular a security document, is shown in perspective. With this book-like MM 58765p1_XML.docx Document 11 is, for example, an identification document such as a passport. The document 11 comprises, for example, a book cover 12. On an inside of the book cover 12, an attachment can be provided which is attached to the book cover 12. A data page 17 and one or more inner pages 18 are connected to one another to form a book block 15 via a seam 16. If a book cover 12 and in particular the header 14 are provided, at least this header 14 is also connected to the seam 16 to form the book block 15. The inner pages 18 of the book-like document 11 are used to receive visas, stamps or other entries. The data page 17 consists of a data carrier 20 and a tab 23 attached to it. The data page 17, in particular the data carrier 20, can for example be designed according to the ICAO standard and include an image 19 of the document owner, a machine-readable area 21 (MRZ) and other personalization data 22 include. The personalization data 22 are provided within the data carrier 20. The tab 23 of the data carrier 20 extends over the seam 16. This tab 23 also includes a seam area in which the seam 16 is formed. Additionally or alternatively, a glued and / or welded connection can be provided for the seam 16 in order to bind the flap 23 into the book-like document 11, in particular the book block 15.

In Figure 2 a side view of the data page 17 is shown schematically. The data carrier 20 can include, for example, a transponder module 24 which consists of an IC chip 25 and an antenna 26. In addition or as an alternative, further electronic and / or other security elements, in particular diffractive security elements, can be incorporated and / or applied.

The tab 23 is connected to the data carrier 20 to form an overlap area 30. The tab 23 consists of a textile band material, which is preferably connected to an outermost layer of the data carrier 20 by welding. With regard to the connection of the flap 23 of the textile band-shaped Material for the tab 23 as well as the data carrier 20 and the structure of the data carrier 20 is fully based on the DE 10 2012 213 913 A1 Referenced.

The tab 23 has an area 31 protruding beyond a longitudinal edge 32 of the data carrier 20. The connection of the data page 17 to the inner pages 18 for a book block 15 follows within this protruding area 31. The seam 16 can also be introduced in this protruding area 31.

The data page 17 has an upper and lower end edge 34, 35. In each case a front side 36, 37 extending along the tab 23 is preferably aligned with the front edge 34, 35. A sealing surface 38 is provided adjacent to the respective front side 36, 37 of the tab 23. This sealing surface 38 in each case in the edge region of the tab 23 creates a sealed edge section 39 which extends over the entire width of the tab, in particular the length of the end face 36, 37. This sealing surface 38 is equal to or narrower in terms of width than the width of the tab 23 or the length of the end edge 36, 37. Thus, the two sealing surfaces 38 arranged on the respective outer edge section 39 of the tab 23 extend only partially towards each other along the tab 23 . The formation of the sealing surface 38 extends both over the overlapping area 30 and the protruding area 31. In the overlapping area 30, only one free surface of the tab 23 is available for forming the sealing surface 38. In the protruding area 31, a sealing surface 38 is formed both on the upper side and on the lower side of the tab.

The sealing surface 38 can be produced by a thermal and / or chemical process. The sealing surface 38 is created by at least partial melting of the textile tape material, so that the individual fibers and / or threads are materially connected to one another and form a closed and sealed edge section 39. This edge section 39 preferably flows smoothly into the front edge 34, 35 of the data carrier 20 over, so that a uniform termination along the end face 34, 36 or 35, 37 can be created. The sealing surface 38 is preferably produced by an ultrasonic method or an ultrasonic sealing.

In the following Figures 3 to 9 successive method steps are shown, through which the data page 17 according to Figure 2 will be produced. The textile band material for the flap 23 is provided, for example, as an endless band 40, as shown in FIG Figure 3 is shown. At the same time, a data carrier 20 is provided on a carriage or a transport pallet 41 or on a conveyor belt, the tab 23 and the data carrier 20 being positioned relative to one another in such a way that an overlap area 30 is formed, as shown in FIG Figure 4 is shown in a plan view. The tab 23 and / or the transport pallet 41 are then moved towards one another so that they come to rest.

Subsequently, the tab 23 and the data carrier 20 are moved together into a connection station 43. This connection station 43 is in Figure 5 in a side view and in Figure 6 shown in a view from the front. An anvil 44, for example, is positioned on an underside of the data carrier 20. A sonotrode 45 is provided opposite, for example. The tab 23 is then connected to the data page 17 by ultrasonic welding. With regard to the material of the tab 23 and / or the data carrier 20 as well as the method options for connecting the tab 23 to the data carrier 20, the full scope of the DE 10 2012 213 913 A1 Referenced.

After the tab 23 is connected to the data carrier 20 in the connection station 43 at least in such a way that the data carrier 20 claws in the overlap area 30 to fix the tab 23, the data carrier 20 and the tab 23 are transferred to a sealing station 47. At this point in time, the tab 23 is still connected to the endless belt 40. The sealing station 47 comprises two sealing devices 48, which consist of at least an anvil 49 and a sonotrode 50. These locking devices 48 are spaced from one another in such a way that they are each located in an edge region of the tab 23, so that the introduction of two sealing surfaces 38, as shown in FIG Figure 8 is shown, takes place in each case in the edge region of the tab 23. The sealing device 48 has the effect that the tab 23 is melted on one side in the overlap area 30, so that it connects to the data carrier 20. Furthermore, the sealing device 48 in the protruding area 31 of the tab 23 ensures that it is melted on both sides, so that a melt is formed which hardens uniformly without individual fibers and / or threads remaining.

At the in Figure 7 The embodiment of the sealing station 47 shown here preferably has a cutting station 52. This cutting station 52 is preferably integrated in the sealing station 47, but can also be designed separately. For example, this cutting station 52 can be positioned separately, so that after the tab 23 has been tied to the data page 20 according to FIG Figure 6 Before the data carrier 20 is transferred into the sealing station 47, the endless belt 40 is cut. The cutting station 52 can also be connected downstream of the sealing station 47.

Dabei liegt der Schnitt für die Trennung des Endlosbandes 40 bevorzugt außerhalb der Versiegelungsfläche 38.The tab 23 is separated from the endless belt 40 by the cutting station 52. In this case, the cut for the separation of the endless belt 40 is preferably outside the sealing surface 38.

A data page 17 is preferably produced in raw dimensions, as shown in FIG Figure 9 is shown. The front edges 54, 55 of the data carrier 20 correspond to a rough dimension for a data page 17 to be produced. The front edges 34, 35 of the data carrier 20 and front sides 36, 37 of the tab 23 according to FIG Figure 2 are formed by such a cut. The distance between the opposite Sealing surfaces 38 are provided in such a way that the cutting lines 57 for the final format of the data page 17 each completely crosses the sealing surface 38. The respective cutting line 57 preferably traverses the sealing surface 38, so that the same surface sections of the sealing surface 38 are preferably formed on both sides of the cutting line 57. The sealing surfaces 38 can also extend as far as the end edges 54, 55. This is dependent on the oversize of the data carrier in the raw dimension in relation to the final format of the data carrier 20. The data carrier 20 can also be cut to the final format along the front edge 58.

By positioning the cutting line 57 within the sealing surface 38, after the cut has been made, a clean, sealed edge section 39 or edge termination is created so that the fibers and / or threads of the tab 23 are prevented from fanning and / or curling.

In Figure 10 FIG. 13 is an alternative embodiment of the data page 17 not belonging to the invention to the ones in FIGS Figures 1 to 9 data pages 17 described. This data page 17 differs from the embodiment described above with regard to the formation of a sealing surface 38. According to a first embodiment, the tab 23 is provided and supplied from a textile strip material, which has a sealing compound, for example, in a protruding area 31 of the tab 23, whereby the protruding area 31 is sealed over its entire length. For example, an adhesive or the like can be provided as the sealing compound. The overlap area 30 of the textile tape material is formed without adhesive. The manufacture of this in Figure 10 The data page 17 shown is carried out analogously with regard to the data page 17 shown in FIG Figures 3 to 6 described steps. The raw data page 17 is then severed from the endless belt 40 without additional sealing surfaces being introduced, as shown in FIG Figure 7 is shown. The data page 17 present in raw dimensions is then shown along the cutting lines 57 according to FIG Figure 10 to a Final dimension cut. This introduction of the sealing surface 38 in the protruding area also prevents the cut edges 57 of the textile strip material from curling up or splitting open.

Dies entspricht der Position der Versiegelungsflächen 38 in Figur 8.Alternatively, the sealing surface 38 can only extend in sections in the protruding area 31 along the tab 23, so that the sealing surfaces 38 are each provided in the end section of the tab 23 in the area of the cutting lines 57. This corresponds to the position of the sealing surfaces 38 in FIG Figure 8 .

In Figure 11 FIG. 14 is a schematic side view of an alternative embodiment of the data page 17 according to FIG Figure 2 shown. In this embodiment, a smoothing layer 59 is additionally applied to a joint area 61 formed between the tab 23 and the data carrier 20. This abutment area 61 is formed by the transition of the tab material to the material of the data carrier. The smoothing layer 59 can only extend over this joint region 61. Alternatively, the smoothing layer 59 can extend over the joint area 61 and the overlap area 30, as shown, for example, in FIG Figure 11 is shown. With regard to the covering of the tab 23, the smoothing layer 59 can also be designed optionally.

The smoothing layer 59 is preferably made from a film or a foil, in particular a strip-shaped foil. The smoothing layer 59 can comprise security features such as, for example, holograms, kinegrams, diffraction structures and / or effect pigments and / or colorations.

Bezugszeichenliste 11. Buchartiges Dokument 35.
