Claims (15)

  1. A data carrier for a book-like document which consists of at least two layers forming a film composite and having at least one outside (35) the end face (41) of which is delimited by two front edges (42, 43) extending along the outside (35), with a burr (44) formed by a cutting process at the front edge (42, 43) on the outside (35) of the film composite being smoothed.

  8. The method as claimed in claim 7, characterised in that the front edge (42, 43) is oriented parallel to the smoothing device (51) and is positioned on said smoothing device (51) across the entire length of the front edge (42, 43).
  9. The method as claimed in claim 7 or 8, characterised in that the smoothing device (51) is realised in the form of a heating plate and a longitudinal median plane (46) of the data carrier (21) is oriented in an inclined manner at an angle of between 1 and 89°, preferably between 30 and 60°, with respect to the heating plate and is placed onto said heating plate.
