Description

The invention relates to a method for producing a data page for a book-like document, in particular a value and / or security document, as well as a method for producing a book block for a book-like document and a method for producing such a book-like document. The invention also relates to a data page for such a book block or book-like document, as well as a book block and a book-like document.

Such security documents can in particular be passport documents, which are typically present in booklet or book form and in which a data page storing information is linked to the passport document. This data page is, for example, a passport book card or passport card that is integrated into the passport document. On this passport book card are personalized data and other data, e.g. B. Information on the issuing authority. This passport book card must be connected to the other inside pages of the passport document in such a way that a third party cannot tear the passport book card out of the document in order to forge or falsify the passport document. In addition, it is necessary that by integrating this passport book card by means of a tab, the unlocking behavior of the passport document is improved so that the passport document also remains closed after a single opening and subsequent closing in order to prevent optical reading of the information.

From the DE 10 2012 213 913 A1 the production of a passport book card is known, in which the connection of a textile band material takes place as a tab on a data carrier to form a passport book card. The flap made of a textile tape material is positioned so that it overlaps on a longitudinal side or side edge of the data carrier. The Tab in the overlap area connected to the data carrier by welding. Here, in particular, ultrasonic welding takes place, in which an anvil and a sonotrode are positioned outside the overlap area in order to subsequently connect the tab to the data carrier in the overlap area by ultrasonic welding. In doing so, the tab preferably digs into the data carrier.

From the DE 10 2012 112 383 A1 a method for producing such a data page for a book-like document is known. In this case, a flexible strip material to be attached to it is fed to a data carrier, so that an area of overlap with the data carrier is formed. The band material, which is provided by an endless band, is then cut off, so that after the flap has been positioned, forming an overlap area, it can be permanently connected to the data carrier.

When using a textile band material to form a flap, open cut edges occur in that the individual threads or fibers of the textile band material curl or curl. This can weaken the tab at the interface.

The DE 10 2015 001 165 A1 discloses a data page according to the preamble of claim 8.

The invention is based on the object of proposing a method for producing a data page, a book block and a book-like document and a data page for a book block and a book-like document, whereby when using a flap made of a textile fabric, at least one closed interface on the Tab is achieved.

This object is achieved by a method for producing a data page for a book-like document, in particular a value and / or security document, in which the flap made of a textile tape material is brought together with a data carrier which has a rough dimension, the opposite end edges of which have a larger section have than the distance between the cutting lines to form the side edges of the data carrier in the final format and before feeding the tab to connect it to the data carrier, the The flap is cut to a length that is smaller than a distance between the cutting lines to form the side edges of the data carrier in the final format and in which the end faces of the flap are sealed and in which the flap is positioned and connected to the data side to form the overlap area, each end face of the tab being set back inwardly in relation to the cutting lines to form the side edges of the data carrier in the final format. Alternatively, a textile tape material which is impregnated or provided with a sealing compound can also be provided for the flap. This has the advantage that when the data carrier is trimmed to the final format, the tab is not trimmed with respect to the area protruding from the data carrier. The sealed end face of the flap is therefore not trimmed when the data carrier is trimmed to the final format. This enables the sealed end face of the tab or the sealed cut edge of the tab to be retained. A puckering or threading of the textile tape material of the flap can be prevented.

It is preferably provided that when the data page is trimmed to the end, the two front edges and a side edge of the data page opposite the overlap area are trimmed to the exclusion of the tab. Such an embodiment has the advantage that a final processing or a final trimming of the data page is given without further processing of the tab and the sealed front edges of the tab are maintained.

It is preferably provided that the end face of the tab is sealed during the severing. As a result, the end face can be sealed at the same time in one operation, that is, when the tab is cut to a predetermined length. Alternatively, it can also be provided that, after the severing, the sealing of the at least one end face of the tab takes place in a further operation.

Another preferred embodiment of the method provides that at least the end face of the tab is sealed by a thermal or chemical treatment. The fiber ends can be welded or glued together under the influence of temperature. Alternatively, it can be provided that an additional flowable layer or a film or the like is applied, which enables the open end of the tab, that is to say the end face of the tab, to be glued, hardened or closed. For example, the flap can also be completely provided with an adhesive layer or a coating film, as a result of which the interface of the flap is protected against fraying or puckering of the individual threads or fibers.

The object on which the invention is based is also achieved by a method for producing a book block for a book-like document, in particular a value and / or security document, in which one or more inner pages are brought together to form a stack, with a data page according to one of the embodiments described above Stack is fed and the at least one inside and the flap of the data page are connected to one another, with only the at least one inside and the data carrier of the data page subsequently being cut together to a final format of the book block. This enables both the at least one inner side and the data carrier to have a common final format, with the tab, in particular its sealed end faces, not being further processed or trimmed during the final trimming to the final format. Thus, the protection against puckering or threading of the end faces of the flap can continue to be prevented.

It is preferably provided that the at least one inside and the tab of the data page are connected to one another by gluing, welding and / or sewing. It is preferably provided that a seam extends along the flap and connects the at least one inner side to the flap. Advantageously, an attachment can also be provided which is tied into the book block via the seam.

The object on which the invention is based is furthermore achieved by a Method for producing a book-like document, in particular a value and / or security document, in which at least one inner page and a data page according to one of the preceding embodiments and a book cover are bound together, the book cover being folded after the at least one inner page and the data page have been bound and the book cover, the at least one inner side and the data carrier being trimmed to a final dimension along the cutting lines. A 2 or 3-sided trim is provided. The spine of the book is not trimmed. As a result, a common final format can be trimmed for the complete book-like document in one processing step, with the inwardly recessed end faces of the flaps opposite the cut lines to form the opposite end edges no further cutting processing of the cut sides of the flap, so that the protection against fraying or Curling of the end faces of the flap is maintained.

An alternative embodiment of the method for producing a book-like document, in particular a value and / or security document, provides that a book block according to one of the previously described embodiments is bound into a book cover. A book cover made to a final size is preferably provided. This embodiment also makes it possible to avoid further trimming of the tab material.

The object on which the invention is based is furthermore achieved by a data page for a book-like document, in particular a document of value and / or security, in which a data carrier is connected to a flap made of a textile strip material to form an overlap area and the flap is connected to at least one end face Has sealing edge or at least one sealing surface and the end faces of the tab are each set back inwardly with respect to the end edges of the data carrier. This makes it possible for threads or fibers to protrude from the end face, which is formed by a cut, is avoided. In addition, it is also prevented that a user can curl up and / or pull out individual threads.

It is preferably provided that the at least one sealing edge or sealing surface on the end face of the tab extends at least over the width of the protruding area of the tab. This sealing edge or sealing surface preferably extends over the entire width of the end face of the tab. This also enables simple manufacture.

The sealing surface preferably extends along the end face of the tab at least over the protruding area, preferably over the entire width. This results in a clean, sealed edge of the cut textile strip material.

Furthermore, the sealing surface is strip-shaped and is designed to be adjacent to the end face of the data carrier. It has been shown that a narrow strip-shaped area is sufficient to form a sealed edge termination.

Furthermore, the textile tape material is melted in the overlapping area and is firmly connected to the data carrier. As a result, even when a cut is made to form the final format of the data carrier, the threads and / or fibers of the textile tape material can be prevented from ruffling, fraying or fanning out.

The width of the sealing surface is preferably equal to or smaller than the length of the sealing surface along the cut edge or end face of the tab. The width of the sealing surface is preferably selected such that it is wider than the tolerances that occur for introducing the cut edge of the data carrier onto the final format.

Furthermore, the sealing surface, which is preferably formed by introducing a sealing compound into the textile strip material, extends at least in sections, preferably over the entire length of the protruding area of the tab. As a result, the entire area of the tab that protrudes beyond the data carrier and extends outside of the overlap area is against Damage and / or puckering, fraying or splicing protected by the sealing.

The tab of the data page for tying it to the data carrier is preferably designed as a textile tape material in the form of a woven, knitted fabric, fleece or felt made of one or more meltable substances.

The data carrier of the data page preferably consists of one or more layers which are formed from one or more materials, in particular from plastic. The data carrier can also consist of a laminate composite.

An advantageous embodiment of the data carrier provides that at least one smoothing layer is applied to the tab. This smoothing layer can represent additional protection, in particular when a joint area is covered, and enable improved haptics.

The smoothing layer preferably consists of a film or foil made of a plastic material which has a lower melting point than an outer layer of the data carrier. As a result, the smoothing layer can be melted and connected to the data side, that is to say the tab and / or the data carrier, with a low input of energy, without the materials of the tab and / or the data carrier being completely melted. Melting it may be sufficient. This also optimizes the process time.

The object on which the invention is based is also achieved by a book block in which at least one inside page is connected to a data page according to one of the previous embodiments. After the at least one inside page has been brought together and connected to the data page, in particular to the tab attached to the data carrier of the data page, the book block can be trimmed to a final format, with the end faces of the tab not within the cutting line for the formation of the at least two are opposite front edges of the data carrier and are therefore not trimmed.

The object on which the invention is based is further achieved by a book-like document, in particular a document of value and / or security, which has a book cover in which a book block according to the embodiment described above is incorporated. In this embodiment, a book block trimmed to a final format is introduced into the book cover and connected to it.

The object on which the invention is based is achieved by an alternative embodiment of the book-like document, in particular value and / or security document, in which at least one inside page, a data page according to one of the embodiments described above and a book cover are connected to one another and the book cover, the at least one inside page and the data carrier of the data page, excluding the tab, has a common final format due to a trim. A so-called booklet is thereby formed, in which the front sides of the flap are set back inwardly in relation to the front edges of the book cover of the at least one inside and the data carrier and are thus arranged on the inside.

In particular, these consist of polycarbonate (PC). Further alternatives can be bisphenol-A polycarbonate, carboxy-modified PC, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), its derivatives such as glycol-modified PET (PETG), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyvinyl butyral (PVB), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), polyimide (PI), Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polystyrene (PS), polyvinylphenol (PVP), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), in particular thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). The tab 23 is according to the detail X in Figure 2 enlarged in a plan view in Figure 4 shown. According to a first embodiment, the tab 23 can be designed as a fabric. This fabric can consist of textile fabric, in particular weft and warp threads 43, 44. Alternatively, it can also be provided that this fabric consists of plastic fibers and / or metallic fibers and / or a fiber composite. Such a fiber composite can have hybrid fibers. These include, for example, a fiber core and a fiber sheath surrounding or surrounding the fiber core. The fiber casing has a melting temperature which is similar to a layer 32, 34 of the front and / or back cover 28, 29 or is preferably within a temperature range of less than 60 ° thereof. The melting temperature of the fiber casing is preferably the same as that of the layer 32 and / or 34 immediately adjacent to it intended. The melting temperature of the fiber core, on the other hand, is significantly higher, so that on the one hand a melting or melting of the fiber casing is possible and on the other hand the structure of the fabric is maintained over the fiber cores. As an alternative to the one shown in FIG Figure 4 open structure shown can also be designed as a knitted fabric, fleece or felt. This also creates open structures that allow the tab 23 in the area of the overlap area 30 to the front page booklet 28 to at least partially penetrate the tab 23 into a fused area of the front page booklet 28 into the tab 23 in the overlap area 30 when it is tied by welding or lamination is.

Meltable textile materials are preferably used as textile materials for the tab, which are preferably formed entirely or partially from plastic (polymer), in particular from thermoplastic material. A thermoplastic plastic, a polyester, for example polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is preferably used. The textile material can preferably be formed at least partially from polyester. The melting point or the glass transition temperature of the fusible material is preferably adapted to the material properties of the data carrier. The melting and / or glass transition temperature of the tab and the data carrier are preferably similar (for example within a temperature range of 50 ° C.) so that the welding process can be carried out easily and without errors. In addition, the textile material can partly consist of cotton. For example, a cotton-polymer mixture, in particular a cotton-polyester mixture, can also be used. Furthermore, the tab can be formed from at least two different materials (mixed fabrics), one of which melts when the tab 23 is welded to the data carrier 20 and the other material does not bond to the data carrier 20 during the welding process.

From the schematic sectional view according to Figure 3 it can be seen that the tab 23 is applied on one side to the top of the layer 32, in this exemplary embodiment, the layer 32 comprises a receiving region 46. This receiving area 46 is formed by reducing the wall thickness of the layer 32. In principle, this enables an almost step-free integration of the tab 23 in the overlap area 30 to an adjacent surface of the layer 32 of the data carrier 20. Analogously, the tab 23 can also be connected to the layer 34.

In Figure 5 an alternative embodiment for attaching the tab 23 on the data carrier 20 to form the data page 17 is shown. The receiving area 46 is not provided. Depending on the mesh size of the tab 23 and / or the pressure of a laminating tool or welding tool, the tab 23 is penetrated into the overlap area 30 after the tab 23 and / or the layer 32 has been at least partially melted or melted.

The flap 23 made of a textile band material is provided, for example, as an endless band. The tab 23 is cut to a predetermined length by trimming. This length of the tab 23 is shorter than a final format of the data page 17 or a distance between the upper and lower end edges 35, 36 of the data carrier 20 in the final format. The flap 23 is preferably cut with a heating blade, so that the end face 37, 38 of the flap 23 melt at the same time as a result of the effect of temperature and is formed as a sealing edge 38. Alternatively, ultrasound separation can also take place, or a combination of a separation cut with ultrasound treatment can take place in order to form at least the sealing edge 38. The sealing of the cutting edge or the separating edge on the end face 37, 38 prevents the textile tape material for the tab 23 from fraying or puckering.

If the textile band material for the tab 23 is provided with a sealing compound which is at least in the area of the future cutting edge, a severing with a cutting or punching knife is sufficient, since the sealing compound already has a Curling or threading of the threads or fibers is prevented.

In addition, it can be provided that a locking surface 38 extending at least slightly along the tab 23 is formed adjacent to the sealing edge 38. This locking surface 38 can be produced, for example, by ultrasonic sonotrodes. This sealing surface 40 can also be formed by applying a sealing compound. Alternatively, a smoothing layer or melting film or the like can also be applied in order to form the sealing surface 40.

In Figure 6 a schematic view of a data page 17 in the raw dimension 53 with a tab 23 connected to it is shown before a trimming to the final dimension. In the exemplary rough dimension 53 for the data page 17, both the end faces 35, 36 and a longitudinal side 33 are oversized (dashed lines). Alternatively, the long side 33 can already be present to the final dimension. When aligning the tab 23 to form the overlap region 30, this takes place in such a way that the end faces 37 and 38 are each arranged offset inwardly with respect to the end face 35, 36. An equal distance between the end faces 37, 38 of the tab 23 and the end edges 35, 36 of the data carrier 20 is preferably provided. The tab 23 is thus arranged averaged relative to the data carrier 20.

In a subsequent work step for producing the final format for the data page 20, a two- or three-sided punching or cutting process takes place. The data carrier 20 is trimmed along the cutting lines 57 and the cutting line 58. Due to the inwardly recessed end face 37, 38 of the tab 23, there is no trimming of an end region of the tab 23 adjoining the end face 37, 38, so that the locking edge 39 or locking surface 40 formed on the end face 37, 38 during the trimming of the data carrier 20 a gauge block remains unprocessed.

In Figure 7 a schematic view from above of a method for producing a book block 15 is shown. It is provided that the at least one inside 18 and the data page 17 be gathered. In addition, the attachment 14 can also be provided. At least one inner page 18, the data page 17 and, if applicable, the header 16 are stacked on top of one another and connected to one another. The connection can be made by welding, gluing and / or sewing. The data page 17 is connected to the at least one inner side 18 and, if necessary, the header 14 via the tab 23. This arrangement is then collapsed, as shown in FIG Figure 7 is shown in a view from above. The book block 15 is then trimmed to its final format along the cutting lines 57 and 58. Since the end faces 37, 38 of the flap 23 are set back with respect to the cutting lines 57, the end face 37, 38 or an adjacent end region of the flap 23 is again not trimmed or processed so that the sealing edge 39 and / or sealing surface 40 formed is maintained.

The embodiment described above can also apply to the production of a book-like document 11, provided this is designed as a so-called booklet. In this case, the book block 15, as shown in the structure in FIG Figure 7 is described, placed in a book cover 12 and connected to this. The book block 15 can be glued, welded or sewn to the book cover 12. The book cover 12 is then folded up and trimmed to a final dimension, so that the book cover 12 and the book block 15 are simultaneously cut to final dimensions at least along the cutting line 57. Preferably, trimming also takes place along the cutting line 58. The spine of the book is not trimmed in the process.
