From the US 5,403,138 A1 emerges from a book-like photo album. This photo album comprises a book cover which is connected to a number of photographs which are strung together. When folded, the photographs form a book block with an attachment. A double-sided adhesive tape connects the attachment to the book cover, the double-sided adhesive tape corresponding to the format of the attachment and a free space in the finished book cover to accommodate the photographs in the book cover.

Zur Einbindung dieses Einlageblattes in ein buchartiges Dokument wird der Buchblock mit dem Vorsatz verklebt.the DE 10 2013 105 023 A1 discloses a double-sided insert which is sewn into a book-like document. To incorporate this insert sheet into a book-like document, the book block is glued to the attachment.

Die DE 20 2006 015 340 U1 zeigt eine Anordnung von Innenseiten für ein Fotoalbum, bei denen ein doppelseitiger Klebestreifen verwendet wird, um die Innenseiten miteinander zu verkleben.the DE 20 2006 015 340 U1 shows an arrangement of inside pages for a photo album in which a double-sided adhesive strip is used to glue the inside pages together.

From the DE 10 2004 008 841 A1 a document of value and / or security is known which comprises a book cover and a book block which are connected to one another. The book block consists of a header, a personalization data page and other data pages or inner pages that are sewn together. To connect the book block with the book cover, the attachment is glued to the book cover.

In the production of such a book-like value and / or security document, wet glue is used to glue the attachment to the book cover. Such a value and / or security document can only be processed further after the wet glue has dried in order to avoid possible impairments.

The invention is based on the object of proposing a method for producing a book-like value and / or security document and a book-like value and / or security document in which further processing is made possible within a very short time after the book cover and the book block have been connected.

This object is achieved by a method for producing a book-like value and / or security document according to claim 1, in which a material web with a double-sided adhesive layer is applied to an inside of the book cover or to an outside of the attachment and the attachment and the book cover are aligned with one another , merged and permanently connected to each other. By using the material web with the adhesive layer on both sides, the attachment is immediately glued to the book cover, so that further processing is possible immediately afterwards. A heat input, which would be required for the drying of a wet glue, is not required. In addition, this method has the advantage that the attachment can be permanently and securely glued to the book cover. This also increases the security against manipulation, since an attempt to separate the attachment and the book cover would result in destruction.

Furthermore, the material web with the adhesive layer on both sides is cut to a width or provided with a prefabricated width which is smaller than the width of the raw dimensions of the book cover or the attachment. This has the advantage that when the attachment and the book cover are brought together, a lateral flow of the material web - if this should occur - is ended before the outer edges of the raw dimensions of the passport book cover are reached. This advantageously prevents the adhesive material from escaping from the side when the attachment and book cover are pressed onto one another, which can lead to other system parts sticking or smearing when the book cover is cut or punched to a final format.

Furthermore, the material web with the adhesive layer on both sides is cut to a length that is shorter than the length of the raw dimensions of the book cover and the attachment. This has the advantage, analogous to that of the embodiment according to the invention, that the width the material web is smaller than the raw dimension of the width of the book cover or the attachment.

The material web can have a thickness between 20 μm and 100 μm, in particular between 25 μm and 50 μm.

Furthermore, the material web with the double-sided adhesive layer can be applied to the book cover or the attachment in such a way that all outer edges of the material web are set back inwardly compared to the raw material of the book cover or the raw dimensions of the attachment. This advantageously prevents the material web from emerging from the side with respect to all outer edges of the book cover or the offset when the book block is glued to the book cover, which in turn can increase process reliability.

The material web with the double-sided adhesive layer is preferably provided as a roll product with a protective film or carrier film applied on one side, in particular silicone paper, and the one side that becomes free when the material web is unrolled is applied with the adhesive layer to the book cover or the attachment and then the other side of the Protective film or carrier film provided with the web of material is removed. This enables quick and easy processing. In particular, this can shorten the process time and increase productivity.

The book cover and the attachment are preferably connected to one another by roller lamination. As a result, a full-surface and permanent connection between the attachment and the book cover can be achieved without the formation of bubbles.

Furthermore, according to the invention, after the book block and the book cover have been connected, the document produced in raw dimensions is cut to final dimensions in the opened or closed state. The cutting guide is preferably set back in relation to the outer edge of the attachment or the book cover in such a way that the cutting guide extends through the material web provided with adhesive when the document is cut or punched to its final dimensions. This ensures complete bonding of the front edges then produced between the attachment and the book cover.

A further advantageous embodiment of the method provides that the book block is formed from a header extending on both sides to the folding area of the book-like value and / or security document and at least one data page extending on both sides to the folding area and preferably with a data carrier, in particular a personalization data page a flap is arranged which extends over the fold area. Such a structure of a book block can by the material web can be securely bound into the book cover with the adhesive layer on both sides.

Furthermore, the attachment, the at least one data page and preferably the tab of the personalization data page are preferably sewn and / or welded and / or laminated to one another. Advantageously, a reinforcement can also be introduced in the fold area on an outer side of the attachment facing the book cover to be glued. This reinforcement can be designed as a paper strip, fabric strip, as a strip of plastic film or a combination thereof. This provides a secure connection between the individual data pages and the data carrier, in particular the personalization data page, to the book block.

The double-sided adhesive web of material preferably consists of a film which can consist of a thermoplastic elastomer or a polyolefin, which has an adhesive layer on both sides, which can consist of rubber or acrylate, for example. Likewise, the material web can consist entirely of an adhesive sheet or film which has an adhesive effect on both sides.

The material web with the adhesive layer on both sides can also be designed as an adhesive strip which has an adhesive surface on both sides. It goes without saying that the material web with an adhesive layer on both sides can be formed as a material web that can consist of a different material than the adhesive layer applied to it, or that the material web itself forms the adhesive layer, which has an adhesive effect on both sides.

With such a structure of the value and / or security document, a quick and permanent connection, in particular gluing, as well as further processing can be achieved immediately after the book block and the book cover have been brought together.

Furthermore, the book cover is preferably formed from one or more layers which extend on both sides along a fold area and have a book cover front and back which are preferably congruent when the document is closed. The at least one layer of the book cover preferably extends continuously along the front and back of the book cover. This can simplify the production or the The material web is applied with the adhesive layer on both sides.

According to a preferred embodiment, the header, the data page and preferably the data carrier, in particular the personalization data page, are designed in a format which corresponds to the format of the book cover. This makes it possible, for example, for the value and / or security document to be finished with a punching process in a closed state and for the components of the value and / or security document to have high dimensional accuracy.

The book-like document 11 further comprises a book block 22. This book block 22 consists of one or more data pages 19. A data carrier 21, such as a personalization data page, can preferably also be provided. Such a data carrier 21 preferably comprises a tab 29. The book block also comprises 22 an attachment 18. The attachment 18, the at least one data page 19 and the tab 29 of the data carrier 21 are connected to one another in the folding area 15. This can be done, for example, by forming a seam 30 with at least one thread. Alternatively, the attachment 18, the tab 29 of the data carrier 21 and the at least one data page 19 can be connected to one another by welding and / or lamination in the fold area 15. Alternatively, a combination of the embodiments described above can also be possible in order to form a book block 22. The book block 22 is advantageously a manageable unit.

The data carrier 21 embodied as a personalization data page is embodied, for example, in accordance with the ICAO standard and comprises an image 24 of the document owner, a machine-readable area 25 (MRZ) and further personalization data 26.

According to this exemplary embodiment, the data carrier 21 can furthermore comprise a transponder module 28 in which the data of the document owner and further security features can be stored. The data carrier 21 is designed, for example, as an insert sheet which comprises the tab 29 which extends beyond the fold area 15. The transponder module 28 comprises an IC chip 32 and an antenna 31 connected to it, which consists of several windings and can preferably be printed on.

In Figure 2 a semi-finished product 35 is shown in perspective. This semi-finished product 35 can be both the book cover 12 and the book block 22. This semifinished product 35 has an application side 36. In the case of the book cover 12, this can be an inside of the book cover 12 or an inside of the book cover front 13 and the book cover back 14. In the case of the book block 22, the application side 36 is an outside of the attachment 18, which is provided for connecting the book block 22 to the inside of the book cover 12. An application segment 37, which consists of a material web 43, is applied to this application side 36. These Material web 43 can have sticky surfaces on both sides. Alternatively, the application segment 37 can be a material web 43 provided with an adhesive layer on both sides.

The adhesive layer can be rubber or acrylate, for example.

This application segment 37 has a format which is smaller than the application side 36 of the semifinished product 35. Each side edge 38 of the application segment 37 is set back inwardly with respect to an outer edge 39 of the semifinished product 35. As a result, a free edge section 41, 42 is formed on the semifinished product 35, which is free from the application segment 37, that is to say free from the material web 43 with the adhesive layer. The edge section 41 along a longitudinal side of the semifinished product 36 is preferably of the same width as an edge section 41 along a narrow side of the semifinished product 35.

The application segment 37 is applied to the semifinished product 35 as a full-area adhesive layer or a full-area material web 43 with an adhesive layer on both sides.

To produce the book-like value and / or security document, either the inside of the book cover 12 or the outside of the attachment 18 of the book block 22 is fitted with this application segment 37 according to FIG Figure 2 Mistake. The book cover 12 and the book block 22 are then preferably aligned with one another in an open arrangement and then brought together and permanently connected to one another. The book cover 12 and the book block 22, which are connected to one another in the raw dimension by an adhesive connection, are punched to a final dimension. This cutting or punching process can take place when the book-like document 11 is open. The book-like document 11 is preferably closed in order to subsequently carry out the cutting or punching process. In this case, punching or cutting takes place along the outer edges 39. The edge section 41, 42 of the application segment 37 is designed in relation to the raw size of the semi-finished product 35 such that in such a cutting or punching process of the book-like document 11 from the raw size to the finished size of the cutting - or a punch cut is made through the application segment 37. As a result, the resulting front edge is formed by an outer edge 39 of the book cover 12 and an outer edge of the attachment 18, which are glued together through the material web with a double-sided adhesive layer and up to the front edge.

In Figure 3 FIG. 3 is a schematic sectional view taken along line III-III in FIG Figure 1 shown. This sectional view makes it clear that the application segment 37 extends after cutting or punching to the final format of the book-like document 11 as far as the outer edge 39 of the attachment 18 of the front edge of the book cover 12.

The book block 22 can according to the embodiment in FIG Figure 3 additionally have a reinforcement strip 33. This reinforcement strip 33 can be connected to the book block 22 by the seam 30. The reinforcement strip 33 preferably consists of a fabric layer, a plastic layer or a combination thereof. This reinforcement strip 33 rests directly on an outside of the attachment 18. As a result, the fold area 15 can be reinforced and there can be increased security in the event of manipulation.
