  • the print masks When printing on the paper web, the print masks generate parallel on the paper webs printed partial webs 4.1 to 4.4, which are then separated from one another in the longitudinal direction by means of knives 5.1 to 5.3, which are part of the separating device 16, and are further conveyed in the form of separate partial webs 4.1 to 4.4.
  • Figure 3 shows a perspective view of a further part of the device for producing a pamphlet.
  • the conveying direction of these separate partial webs is now rotated by ninety degrees with the help of turning bars 6.1, 6.2, which are part of the guide device 18, and shifted to one another in the transverse direction so that the partial webs come to lie above or below one another in a predetermined manner.
  • two turning bars 6.1, 6.2 are shown only as an example, since Figure 3 shows only the two partial webs 4.1 and 4.2 to be glued together.
  • more than two turning bars 6.1, 6.2 can be provided if this is necessary to divert the partial webs.
  • at least two turning bars can be provided for each partial path.
  • the art of the printer consists in coordinating the arrangement of the printing masks on the printing rollers as well as the arrangement of the turning bars and possibly other deflection rollers so that the individual sheets of the printed matter are assigned consistently and the pages of the printed matter appear in the desired order.
  • the assigned sheets are then stapled, folded and cut into shape in the usual way.
  • FIG. 4 shows a perspective view of a further part of the device for producing a pamphlet.
  • the invention consists in that after the partial webs have been turned over, a glueing machine is arranged which can temporarily and selectively provide both a single, but also several sections of a partial web with a glue layer 7.
  • a glue application roller 8 is assigned to this glue machine, which can basically apply a layer of glue to a section of a partial web on the lower or upper side, which can be limited in time and space.
  • adhesive can only be applied to a circumferential section of the glue application roller.
  • the amount of glue to be applied can be set via a special structure of the surface of the glue application roller, its material and / or via a separate transfer roller 9.
  • the partial webs are brought together in the known manner at item 4.5 in such a way that the individual partial webs 4.1 and 4.2 of the publication come to lie above or below one another in a predetermined manner.
  • the glued surfaces of a page or a sheet are inevitably glued to the assigned pages or sheets of the publication, which may be supported by a pressing device, by heating and / or by the selection of a fast-hardening glue can be.
  • the publication is then completed in the usual way, as described above.
  • a single page of the document can also be only partially thickened, for example only in an edge area.
  • the connection to the remaining, namely non-glued, page area can then be opened manually, for example via a zip perforation, which can increase the reader's attention of this publication.
  • Thickened pages can be advantageous both for forming the outer pages of a print, which form an integral cover, but also for the formation of individual pages within a print if they are to be particularly emphasized in the form of "stop pages".
  • an embossing can be made particularly easily in a glued side, especially if the glue still behaves plastically.
  • fibers can also be introduced into the glue, for example glass or mineral fibers.
  • small plastic or glass balls, if necessary hollow balls with different diameters can be added to the glue, which are able to further increase the thickness of the glued sides and keep the glue consumption within limits.
  • FIG. 5 shows a side view of a gluing machine 26 of the device 10 for producing a printed document.
  • the glue machine 26 has a glue application roller 8, a transfer roller 9 and a counter-pressure roller 28.
  • the glue application roller 8 has a cliché 30.
  • the glue application roller 8 is designed for the selective application of adhesive 7 to an upper side 32 or lower side 34 of the first partial web 4.1.
  • the transfer roller 9 is designed for transferring the adhesive 7 from an adhesive source to the glue application roller 8 in a predetermined pattern.
  • the transfer roller 9 is an anilox roller.
  • the counterpressure roller 28 is designed to guide the first partial web 4.1 past the glue application roller 8 in such a way that the first partial web 4.1 can be coated with adhesive 7 by means of the glue application roller 8.
  • the glue application roller 8 and the counter-pressure roller 28 can be rotated in opposite directions.
  • the gluing machine 26 furthermore has a chambered doctor blade system 36 with a chamber 38 and at least one doctor blade 40 arranged in the chamber 38.
  • the chamber doctor blade system 36 is designed for applying adhesive 7 to the transfer roller 9 and for stripping off excess adhesive 7 from the transfer roller 9.
  • the device 10 also has a detection device 42.
  • the detection device 42 is designed to automatically detect an unprinted side 44 of the first partial web 4.1.
  • the gluing machine 26 is designed to selectively apply adhesive 7 to the detected unprinted side 44 of the first partial web 4.1, as follows is described in more detail.
  • the detection device 42 is designed to automatically detect an unprinted side 46 of the second partial web 4.2.
  • the detection device 42 can, for example, detect a marking 48 on the first partial web 4.1 and the second partial web 46, which indicates a subsequent unprinted side 44, 46 viewed in the conveying direction.
  • the detection device 42 is a camera or a laser detector that detects a line as a marking 48.
  • the glue machine 26 can be modified as follows.
  • the glue application roller 8 can be a gravure roller.
  • the transfer roller 9 can be omitted.
  • the adhesive 7 can be applied directly to the first partial web 4.1 by means of an intermittently rapidly switched nozzle which points in the direction of the roller 28.
  • a thickened page 50 of a printed matter with at least eight foldable pages can be produced by means of a flexographic printing process.
  • the paper web 2 is separated into partial webs 4.1 to 4.4 and printed by means of the rotary printing press 3.
  • the flexographic printing process for gluing sections of the partial webs 4.1 to 4.4 is described below using the first partial web 4.1 and second partial web 4.2.
  • the following explanations apply analogously to the third partial route 4.3 and fourth partial route 4.4.
  • the first partial web 4.1 is printed in such a way that there are sections that ultimately form the individual pages of the printed document to be produced.
  • the first partial web 4.1 is printed in such a way that there are sections printed on both sides, ie sections printed on the upper side 32 and the lower side 34, and sections printed on one side, ie sections printed only on the lower side 34.
  • the sections printed on one side on the upper side 32 form at least one unprinted side 44 of the first partial web 4.1.
  • the sections printed on both sides form sides 52 which are printed on both sides.
  • the unprinted side 44 of the first partial web 4.1 is a double side, ie two consecutive pages.
  • Corresponding sections are provided analogously on the second partial web 4.2 so that this also has at least one unprinted side 46, which here is also a double page, ie two consecutive pages.
  • the sections of the second partial web 4.2 which are printed on both sides also form sides 54 which are printed on both sides.
  • the marking 48 is printed in front of the unprinted side 44, 46.
  • Detection device 42 detects these markings 48.
  • the first partial web 4.1 is now fed to the gluing machine 26.
  • the glue machine rotates the transfer roller 9, the glue application roller 8 and the counter-pressure roller 28 in opposite directions.
  • Adhesive 7 is fed to the chamber 38 of the chamber doctor blade system 36.
  • the chamber doctor blade system 36 brings the adhesive 7 from the chamber 38 onto the transfer roller 9 on.
  • the transfer roller 9 in turn transfers the adhesive 7 as it rotates to the cliché 30 of the glue application roller 9.
  • the device 10 synchronizes the rotation of the glue application roller 9 such that the cliché 30 contacts the unprinted side 44 of the first partial web 4.1 when the first partial web 4.1 passes over the Counter-pressure roller 28 is guided past the glue application roller 9.
  • the unprinted side 44 is selectively coated with adhesive 7, ie in a pattern given by the cliché 30.
  • the adhesive 7 is coated in at least one area outside a fold to be formed in the printed document to be produced.
  • the adhesive 7 is applied distributed over the entire area of the unprinted side 44 of the first partial web 4.1. Excess adhesive 7 on the transfer roller 9 is wiped off by the latter by means of the doctor blade 40 and thus fed back to the chamber 38.
  • the double-sided printed side 52 is not contacted by the cliché 30 and is therefore not coated with adhesive 7.
  • the first partial web 4.1 with the selectively applied adhesive 7 on the unprinted side 44 is then conveyed further.
  • the detection device 42 detects the unprinted side 46 of the second partial web 4.2.
  • the device 10 conveys and synchronizes the second partial web 4.2 in such a way that the unprinted and adhesive 7 coated side 44 of the first partial web 4.1 faces the unprinted side 46 of the second partial web 4.2 and these exactly overlap one another.
  • the first partial web 4.1 and the second partial web 4.2 are in particular guided in such a way that the unprinted side 44 of the first partial web 4.1 coated with adhesive 7 contacts the unprinted side 46 of the second partial web 4.2.
  • first partial web 4.1 and the second partial web 4.2 are pressed onto one another by means of pressure rollers, not shown in detail.
  • the sides 44 and 46 are glued to form a thickened side 50. Since the adhesive 7 is applied distributed over the entire area of the unprinted side 44 of the first partial web 4.1, the sides 44, 46 are glued to one another over the entire area.
  • the pages 52 and 54 which are printed on both sides, lie loosely on top of one another.
  • the connection can be done by means of fold gluing and optionally additionally by means of stapling.
  • the rebate glue can differ from the adhesive 7 in terms of viscosity. As a result of the above-described gluing of the unprinted pages 44 and 46, these are immobile relative to one another in the printed matter and, in particular, cannot be scrolled against one another. It is explicitly emphasized that glue or glue is also applied in a manner known per se in the area of the fold.
  • the adhesive 7 can be applied at any point on the first partial web 4.1 by means of the gluing machine 26. This is achieved by the shape of the cliché 30 and the setting of the rotational position of the glue application roller 9. For example, not a double page is glued over the entire surface, but only one side of the double page. It is also possible that only one side section of the publication is thickened and is formed from a side section of the first partial web and a facing side section of the second partial web, which are glued together. The sections of the partial webs can also be glued to one another in such a way that two facing sides form a pocket between them and are therefore only glued to one another in the area of the outer edge. In principle, the thickened side 50 can be implemented at any position within the printed matter.
  • a thickened page 50 is provided as the first and / or last page of the publication.
  • the thickened side 50 can be provided at any other side position of the printed matter, such as in the middle, for example.
  • the basic sequence of the procedure is identical and comprises the following steps in the order given.
  • the paper web 2 is printed, then the partial webs 4.1 to 4.4 are cut in the longitudinal direction, then the partial webs 4.1 to 4.4 are brought onto one another transversely to the conveying direction, then they are glued or coated with adhesive 7, then the partial webs 4.1 to 4.4 are brought together transversely to the running direction, then cutting the partial webs 4.1 to 4.4 transversely to the conveying direction, then bringing the trimmed partial web sections onto one another along the conveying direction, optional stapling, then folding and finally, optionally, trimming the printed document thus formed.
