Definitions
- the invention relates to a gas burner according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a gas burner of the type mentioned is from the patent document EP 2 167 876 B1 known.
- This gas burner consists of a burner interior and a distributing device delimiting it, through which a gas-air mixture can flow and which has an inner surface facing the burner interior with a hole structure and a burner surface facing away from the burner interior with a hole structure for the gas-air mixture burning as a flame, the burner surface
- a rod-shaped ionization current sensor also called ionization electrode
- a first surface area of the burner surface that is closest to the ionization current sensor has a hole structure with a smaller degree of opening and a second surface area with one on both sides of the first surface area and parallel to the ionization current sensor a larger opening having a hole structure is provided.
- the distribution device basically consists of two perforated plates with different hole structures, which are arranged at a distance from one another.
- Further gas burners with a modified hole structure in the area of an ionization current sensor are from the documents WO2014067744 A1 and EP2649372 A1 known.
- Degree of opening is to be understood here and also below as a ratio between the open and closed area related to a base area. If, for example, a base area of 100 mm 2 has openings with a total area of 50 mm 2 , their degree of opening is obviously greater than with a base area of the same size with openings with a total area of 25 mm 2 .
- the invention is based on the object of improving a gas burner of the type mentioned at the beginning.
- the degree of modulation ratio of minimum to maximum output
- the degree of modulation ratio of minimum to maximum output that has hitherto been customary in a gas burner is to be increased to up to 1:20.
- the hole structure of the inner surface of the distribution device opposite the ionization current sensor is designed to be constant, viewed in the axial direction of the ionization current sensor.
- the hole structure of the inner surface located on a guide plate varies in the axial direction of the ionization current sensor (see in particular FIG. 4 of the patent document mentioned).
- the ionization current sensor is located in flame areas of different intensity during operation of the burner.
- the lower area in FIG. 4 has a larger, the upper area a smaller degree of opening.
- the lower area ensures in the lower power range, the upper area in the upper power range a sufficient flame length to be able to monitor the presence of the flame with the help of the ionization current sensor.
- the high degree of modulation mentioned at the beginning is possible according to the invention in that a hole structure consisting of two surface areas is provided on the burner surface in the area of the ionization current sensor and over its entire length.
- the requirement mentioned in the protection claim namely that there is a first surface area closest to the ionization current sensor, defines the surface area that results when the ionization current sensor forms a perpendicular to the burner surface and then the left and right areas as seen in the axial direction of the ionization current sensor of the perpendicular used to form the surface area.
- the width of the surface area preferably corresponds to at least the diameter of the rod-shaped ionization current sensor, but a width corresponding to approximately twice the diameter is also possible.
- Second surface areas are provided on both sides of the first surface area, the degree of opening of the first surface area being smaller than the opening degree of the second surface area, which means that in the first surface area per unit area a smaller passage area for the gas-air mixture is provided than in the second surface areas is.
- the increase in the degree of modulation according to the invention to up to 1:20 can finally be explained as follows:
- the detection of the ionization current of the ionization current-based combustion control is essentially dependent on the mixture composition, i.e. the air ratio of the combustion.
- the constant temperature is achieved by changing the open cross section, i.e. the intensity of the flame in the perforation area of the ionization current sensor.
- the solution to the conflict of objectives between perforation for the lower and upper load range no longer consists in changing the intensity, but in changing the hole structure.
- a three-part division of the hole structure parallel to the direction of the ionization current sensor has proven to be suitable.
- edge area there is a relatively open cross section (larger degree of opening), in the middle area, below the ionization current sensor, a more closed area (smaller degree of opening).
- the flame zone in the upper load point of the gas burner is stabilized by the smaller flame in the middle area on the burner surface.
- the ionization current sensor is again in the area of energy release, which at the same time stabilizes the temperature of the sensor.
- the outer, open zones of the hole structure form flames that are long enough to prevent the ionization electrode from cooling down.
- the in Figure 1 The gas burner shown consists in a manner known per se of a burner interior 1 and a distributor device 2, which at least partially delimits this and a gas-air mixture can flow through, which has an inner surface 2.1 facing the burner interior 1 with a hole structure and a burner surface 2.2 facing away from the burner interior with a hole structure for the as Has a flame-burning gas-air mixture, the burner surface 2.2 on the flame side being assigned a rod-shaped ionization current sensor 3 extending parallel to it, a first surface area 2.2.1 of the burner surface 2.2 closest to the ionization current sensor 3 having a hole structure having a smaller degree of opening and with a second surface area 2.2.2 with a hole structure having a greater degree of opening being provided on both sides of the first surface area 2.2.1 and parallel to the ionization current sensor 3.
- the hole structure of the inner surface 2.1 of the distribution device 2 opposite the ionization current sensor 3 is designed to be constant, viewed in the axial direction of the ionization current sensor 3. As explained at the outset, this requirement enables the gas burner to be precisely regulated over its entire load range with the aid of the ionization current sensor 3.
- the hole structure of the inner surface 2.1 is designed to be congruent with the hole structure of the burner surface 2.2, d. H. the hole patterns on both sides of the distribution device 2 correspond.
- the distribution device 2 consists of a metal sheet, the inner surface 2.1 being arranged on one side of the metal sheet and the burner surface 2.2 being arranged on the other side of the metal sheet.
- This sheet metal is designed in particular as a single layer, that is to say, in contrast to the prior art mentioned at the beginning, has no gap, that is to say is designed to be free of gaps.
- the burner interior 1 is entirely free of flow guides for the gas-air mixture.
- the burner surface 2.2 is designed to occupy at least 90% of a total surface of the metal sheet.
- the first surface area 2.2.1, seen across the ionization current sensor 3, is optionally between 1 mm and 8 mm, preferably (approximately) 4 mm, wide and / or the second surface area 2.2.2, seen across the ionization current sensor 3, between 4 mm and 10 mm, preferably (approximately) 7 mm, wide.
- the stipulation "optional" means that only one of these two requirements has to apply.
- the first surface area 2.2.1 has a hole structure formed from a row of slots arranged parallel to the ionization current sensor 3 with its longitudinal axis.
- the slots of the first surface area 2.2.1 are particularly preferably between 1 mm and 9 mm, preferably (approximately) 5 mm, long and between 0.1 mm and 0.9 mm, preferably (approximately) 0.5 mm, wide .
- the slots of the first surface area 2.2.1 viewed in their longitudinal direction, have a spacing of 1 mm to 9 mm, preferably (approximately) 5 mm, from one another.
- the second surface area 2.2.2 has a hole structure formed from slots arranged with their longitudinal axis parallel and transversely to the ionization current sensor 3.
- the slots of the second surface area 2.2.2 are particularly preferably between 1 mm and 9 mm, preferably (approximately) 5 mm, long and between 0.5 mm and 0.9, preferably (approximately) 0.7 mm, wide.
- running slots of the second surface area 2.2.2 are arranged as pairs next to one another.
- a slot running parallel to the ionization current sensor 3 is preferably arranged between a pair of slots running transversely to the ionization current sensor 3.
- the two surface areas 2.2.1, 2.2.2 considered so far relate to the area of the burner surface 2.2 to which the ionization current sensor 3 is assigned.
- the burner surface 2.2 has a third surface area 2.2.3 with a hole structure in addition to the two surface areas 2.2.1, 2.2.2.
- the hole structures of the three surface areas 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.2.3 are designed differently.
- the third surface area 2.2.3 is designed to occupy a larger area of the entire burner surface 2.2 than the two other surface areas 2.2.1, 2.2.2 combined.
- the third surface area 2.2.3 has a hole structure formed from slots arranged with their longitudinal axis transverse to the ionization current sensor 3.
- the slots of the third surface area 2.2.3 are preferably between 1 mm and 6 mm, preferably (approximately) 3.5 mm, long and between 0.1 mm and 0.9 mm, preferably (approximately) 0.5 mm, wide educated.
- the slots of the third surface area 2.2.3 are parallel to one another at a distance between 2 mm and 7 mm, preferably (approximately) 4.5 mm, and in the longitudinal direction to one another Distance between 2 mm and 7.6 mm, preferably (approximately) 4.8 mm.
- the burner interior 1 is cylindrical and has a supply area 4 for the gas-air mixture on one of its end faces and a closure element 5, in particular an opening-free cover, on its other end face.
- a closure element 5 in particular an opening-free cover
- the gas burner or at least this part of the gas burner is thus designed like a pot or pot-like.
- a connection flange 4.1 is preferably provided on the supply area 4 in order to be able to fasten the gas burner protruding into a combustion chamber in a simple manner.
- Ionization current sensor 3 apparently floating above the gas burner, which, because it is easily conceivable, is not shown separately, preferably attached to the supply area side on the gas burner itself or on areas adjacent thereto.
- the gas burner according to the invention works as follows:
- the gas-air mixture is introduced into the burner interior 1 via the supply area 4. From there it flows over the hole structures through the distribution device 2 to the burner surface 2.2, which, as explained, basically has three areas, namely on the one hand the third surface area 2.2.3, i.e. the main area for the combustion of the gas-air mixture.
- the burner surface 2.2 which, as explained, basically has three areas, namely on the one hand the third surface area 2.2.3, i.e. the main area for the combustion of the gas-air mixture.
- there are the other two areas 2.2.1, 2.2.2 are provided, to which the ionization current sensor 3 is assigned.
- the gas burner according to the invention is operated in the upper load range, flames reaching up to the ionization current sensor 3 are formed on the first surface area 2.2.1 having a smaller degree of opening, ie the gas burner can be easily regulated in this way.
- the gas burner according to the invention is operated in the lower load range, the flames of the first surface area 2.2.1 are no longer long enough to be able to influence the ionization current sensor 3.
- it is therefore provided that sufficiently long flames are formed on the second surface areas 2.2.2 having a greater degree of opening, which ensure that the ionization current sensor 3 does not cool down and the gas burner can still be precisely regulated.
- all of this presupposes that the combustion of the gas-air mixture is uniform over the entire length of the ionization current sensor 3.
