Definitions

  • the invention relates to a backrest for a chair, in particular an office chair.
  • the invention relates to a chair with such a backrest.
  • a clamping frame is used, in which the corresponding backrest support is clamped.
  • the stenter is designed as a separate component that forms the backrest together with other components.
  • These further components are, in particular, a frame carrier for carrying the tenter frame or the individual tenter frame elements, as well as elements for covering the tenter frame and / or the tenter frame carrier.
  • the construction of such a backrest is comparatively complex and therefore expensive.
  • An object of the present invention is to provide a structurally particularly simple, inexpensive to manufacture chair with high seating comfort while avoiding the disadvantages of conventional backrests with a tensioning frame.
  • the backrest according to the invention has a backrest shell which is covered with a backrest support as a flat covering element, the backrest shell being designed as a closed tub, the only opening of which, defined by the edge of the shell, is spanned with the backrest support in the manner of a drum, and the backrest shell is a receiving space for temporarily receiving the backrest support or parts thereof, characterized in that the backrest shell has a tensioning frame in which the backrest support is clamped, the tensioning frame being circumferentially formed on the edge of the backrest shell.
  • a core idea of the invention is to construct the backrest as simply as possible.
  • the use of a trough-shaped backrest shell is therefore proposed.
  • a receiving space is provided for receiving at least parts of the backrest support.
  • the relevant parts of the backrest support more precisely the backrest contact surface acted upon by the user, are only temporarily picked up by the receiving space, namely when the backrest support is loaded by a user.
  • the flexible backrest support moves into the trough-shaped seat shell when a user leans against the backrest.
  • the backrest shell has a tensioning frame in which the backrest support is clamped.
  • the backrest support is clamped between the frame elements of the stenter.
  • the clamping frame is formed all the way around the edge of the backrest shell.
  • the stenter is an integral part the backrest shell.
  • a chair that has such a backrest is structurally particularly simple and can be manufactured inexpensively without having to forego the desired seating comfort.
  • the receiving space extends essentially over the entire backrest shell.
  • Each part of the backrest support can therefore serve as a backrest contact surface to be acted upon.
  • the backrest cover is formed by an air-permeable, in particular textile fabric or knitted fabric or by an air-permeable membrane, for example by a flexible, semi-transparent polyamide membrane.
  • an air-permeable, in particular textile fabric or knitted fabric or by an air-permeable membrane for example by a flexible, semi-transparent polyamide membrane.
  • the use of other covering material is possible, provided the required material properties, in particular with regard to elasticity and durability, are available.
  • the backrest cover is therefore not self-supporting, but is in the form of a covering, i.e. it only gets its shape when it is clamped, i.e. the attachment to the backrest shell.
  • the material of the backrest cover in other words the covering material, is characterized by a minimum of elasticity, so that the backrest cover is resilient.
  • the deflection of the backrest support more precisely the deflection of the backrest contact surface inwards into the receiving space of the backrest shell, depends on the shape and the elasticity of the backrest shell itself, in particular on the shape of the tenter frame, and moreover on the tension or the The tension under which the backrest pad is placed.
  • the deflectability and flexibility of the backrest support depends on the material-related elasticity of the backrest support on the one hand and the material-related elasticity of the backrest shell on the other hand.
  • the backrest shell is designed as a closed component.
  • the closed backrest shell serves as a support structure for the backrest support and as a central component of the backrest.
  • the backrest shell preferably represents the only supporting element of the backrest.
  • the closed backrest shell delimited by its edge preferably has a completely closed surface, that is to say it is designed as a continuous component, ie without openings, openings, etc. More specifically, the back of the backrest shell and thus the back of the backrest are closed. No additional facings or the like are required to cover the backrest to the rear. The back of the backrest shell forms at the same time the rear visible surface of the backrest. The front of the backrest shell is covered and closed by the backrest pad.
  • the backrest shell gets its elasticity and flexibility solely from its closed shape, according to the selected material. Slots, openings or other openings in the backrest shell are not required for their function, in particular to provide the restoring force, and are therefore not provided. This differentiates this backrest shell from other, conventional backrest constructions, in which a classic frame with vertical and horizontal frame elements and a central opening is used and, if necessary, adjacent material sections of the frame are separated from one another by slots, in order in this way to achieve the desired flexibility of the Frame.
  • the backrest shell is designed as a self-supporting component. It is preferably made as an injection molded part from a plastic material, and inexpensive materials, such as. B. polypropylene.
  • the backrest shell is characterized by a comparatively high bending stiffness, on the one hand to provide the necessary stability as a core element of the backrest as a whole and on the other hand to ensure the required stability of the tenter frame so that the covering always experiences the necessary tension, so the backrest support is always sufficiently tensioned.
  • the bending stiffness of the backrest shell is like this chosen that it is not a completely rigid component, but the necessary elasticity for covering with the backrest pad is given.
  • the backrest shell is elastic. This elasticity is not only necessary for covering with the backrest support, but also for deflecting the backrest support into the receiving space of the backrest shell and for the independent return of the backrest shell to its initial position after a user has leaned against the backrest. In other words, depending on the strength of the load, there is an elastic deformation of the backrest shell when a user is leaning against the backrest. At the same time there is an elastic deformation of the backrest support, in particular in such a way that its fibers stretch in the longitudinal direction and thus change their length when subjected to a load by leaning.
  • the coordinated choice of materials for the backrest cover and backrest shell, in particular with regard to their elasticity and the bending stiffness of the backrest shell, is therefore of particular importance.
  • the backrest shell is made in one piece. This enables inexpensive production, in particular as a plastic injection molded part.
  • the desired component properties in particular the self-bearing capacity, the bending strength and / or the elasticity of the backrest shell, can also be optimized and / or provided in a particularly simple and inexpensive manner.
  • the backrest shell consists of a plurality of subcomponents connected to one another.
  • the backrest shell inside the backrest shell, i.e. no supporting or supporting elements for the backrest support are arranged in the receiving space.
  • the interior of the backrest shell has no support structure or the like for the backrest support.
  • the backrest pad is only attached to the edge of the backrest shell and is held in its normal position only by the tension to which it is exposed due to the clamping on the backrest shell.
  • the inside of the backrest shell is completely empty. There is only air between the backrest cover and the backrest shell.
  • the edge of the backrest shell has an essentially circumferential welt groove for receiving a welt element fastened to the backrest support.
  • the welt groove is opened in the longitudinal direction of the backrest, that is to the rear in the direction of deflection of the backrest support.
  • the welt groove is preferably opened exactly to the rear, ie perpendicular to the transverse direction of the backrest.
  • This alignment of the keder groove means that the backrest support can be pulled out in the direction of the load, that is, in the longitudinal direction of the chair or backrest, forwards or backwards, impossible.
  • this arrangement of the welt groove results in a manufacturing advantage in injection molding, since the injection molding tool simply has to move in the opening or closing direction for the manufacture of the welt groove.
  • An office chair 1 usually comprises a seat base 3 arranged on a chair column 2 and one with the seat base 3 connected seat 4.
  • the seat substructure 3 generally comprises a seat mechanism, for example a so-called synchronous mechanism, which provides for a kinematics which are coupled with one another and bring about a certain relative movement of the seat 4 and the backrest 5 with one another.
  • the backrest support 8 connected to the seat substructure 3, in particular a base support of the seat mechanism, and / or the seat 4 carries a trough-shaped backrest shell 9, which is covered with a backrest support 11 as a flat covering element.
  • the backrest pad 11 is here made of an elastic, air-permeable material.
  • the backrest support 8 binds to the closed back 10 of the backrest shell 9 and, as part of the backrest 5, establishes the connection to the other components of the office chair 1.
  • the back 10 of the backrest shell 9 serves as the rear visible surface of the backrest 5.
  • the backrest shell 9 is designed as a one-piece, completely closed injection-molded part and serves as a support structure for the backrest support 11 and as a central component of the backrest 5.
  • the self-supporting backrest shell 9 has a high degree of flexural rigidity, but is at the same time elastically deformable.
  • the backrest shell 9 is mirror-symmetrical about a central longitudinal axis 6.
  • the backrest shell 9 provides a receiving space 12 for temporarily receiving the backrest pad 11 or parts thereof.
  • the receiving space 12 extends essentially over the entire backrest shell 9.
  • the receiving space 12 of the backrest shell 9 is completely empty.
  • the edge 13 of the backrest shell 9 is designed as a clamping frame 14, in which the backrest support 11 is clamped.
  • a circumferential welt groove 15 is provided for receiving a strip-shaped welt element 16 fastened to the backrest support 11.
  • the welt groove 15 is open to the rear, that is to say in the leaning direction 17, perpendicular to the backrest transverse direction 18.
  • the edges 19, 20 serving as frame elements of the tensioning frame 14 are not linear but curved.
  • the longitudinal edges 19, i.e. the essentially vertical sections of the edge 13, are slightly curved in an S-shape, with the vertical section ( Fig. 5 ) adjoins a straight to (in the direction of leaning 17) concave section in the upper region of the back, a convex section in the lumbar region, ie in the lower region of the back.
  • the backrest shell 9 bulges forward, ie counter to the deflection direction 17. This results in a longitudinally changing course of the clamped backrest support 11 from concave / straight (upper back) to convex (lower back), this course can vary depending on the tension due to the tensile forces acting on the backrest support 11.
  • the transverse edges 20, that is to say the essentially horizontally running sections of the edge 13, are arched outward in the shape of an arch, that is to say in the leaning direction 17, as a result of which a horizontal section Fig. 6 ) results in a concave course of the backrest shell 9. From this follows a mostly concave profile of the clamped backrest support 11, the concavity due to the Backrest pad 11 acting tensile forces can vary depending on the tension up to a straight, not curved course. In order to clamp the essentially rectangular backrest support 11, the longitudinal edges 19 and the transverse edges 20 can each be moved towards one another, so that the backrest shell 9 is correspondingly elastically deformed.
  • the leaning resistance of the backrest support 11 is determined by the pull, which acts on the backrest support 11 due to the elasticity of the backrest shell 9 and the elasticity of the covering material and counteracts a pressing of the backrest support 11 into the receiving space 12 in the leaning direction 17.
  • the tension acting in the individual areas of the back on the clamped backrest support 11 and thus not only the resistance to backrest but also the shape of the backrest support 11 in the unloaded state (concave, convex, straight) can be specifically influenced .
