  • the first crimping tool can usually be exchanged in a technically simple and fast manner for the second crimping tool, which is not identical to the first crimping tool. It is also advantageous that the crimping tool replacement device typically occupies little space or volume and requires little space during the replacement process. In addition, it is ensured that the second crimping tool is placed in the same position as the first crimping tool, namely the process position, in the crimping press. As a result, a realignment of the crimping tool or of the crimp contact or of the cable is typically not necessary. This usually saves time. In addition, the crimping tool replacement device can be retrofitted to existing conventional crimping presses.
  • the crimping tool replacement device comprises a guide device having a T-shaped guideway for guiding and holding a retaining pin of the first Crimping tool and for guiding and holding a second holding pin of the second crimping tool during the process of the first crimping tool and / or the second crimping tool.
  • the crimping tool or the crimping tools are usually guided in a particularly secure manner during the replacement or process.
  • An advantage of this is also that the retaining pin of the crimping tool of the upper tool holder of a conventional crimping press is typically supplied at the same level. This further simplifies the exchange.
  • the crimping tool can normally be brought even more safely into the process position.
  • the retaining pin may be a mushroom-shaped retaining pin at the upper end of the crimping tool.

This makes even more sure that the second crimping tool is placed at exactly the same process position in the crimping press on which the first crimping tool in the crimping press was previously placed.
  • the crimping tool replacement device is designed such that the respective crimping tool is exchangeable together with crimping contacts associated with the respective crimping tool.
  • the crimping tool can be movable in each case together with an adapter plate on which the respective crimping tool is detachably immovably fixed, and the adapter plate can be releasably fixed in such a way that the crimping tool detachably mounted on the adapter plate is arranged in the process position.
  • An advantage of this is that the crimping tool can typically be mounted on the adapter plate at different positions. This serves to align the crimping tool with respect to the crimping press or crimp contact.
  • Fixed immovably fastened means that the crimping tool can not be moved or displaced relative to the adapter plate when the crimping tool is fastened to the adapter plate, but at the same time the attachment is detachable, so that after releasing the attachment, the crimping tool can be displaced relative to the adapter plate (in order to fix the crimping tool in a different position on the adapter plate).

  • the first crimping tool is typically exchanged in a technically simple and fast manner against the second crimping tool, which is not identical to the first crimping tool. It is also advantageous that the crimping tool replacement device usually occupies little space or volume and requires little space during the replacement process. In addition, it is typically ensured the second crimping tool is placed in the same position as the first crimping tool, namely the process position, in the crimping press. As a result, a realignment of the crimping tool or of the crimp contact or of the cable as a rule is not necessary. This saves time. In addition, the crimping tool replacement device can be retrofitted to existing conventional crimping presses as a rule.

  • the replacement process is carried out automatically. Manual intervention is typically unnecessary during the replacement process.
  • the replacement process is carried out particularly quickly and safely.
  • Another advantage is that the movements and the procedure of the crimping tools are usually carried out particularly precisely. • the first crimping tool is attached to a first adapter plate and the first crimping tool is moved together with the first adapter plate and the second crimping tool is attached to a second adapter plate and the second crimping tool is moved along with the second adapter plate.
  • the respective crimping tool can be moved with respective crimp contacts for connection to the conductor end of the cable.
  • An advantage of this method is that not only the crimping tool can be replaced particularly easily and quickly, but also the crimp contacts.
