Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a laundry care appliance with a drain pump.
  • laundry care appliances nowadays have a pumping system, through which washing suds can be pumped out of the suds container and then fed back into the suds container.
  • laundry care appliances nowadays also have a pump-out system. Pumps are required for the pump-over system and the pump-out system in order to ensure effective pump-over or pump-out of the wash suds.
  • DE 32 09 542 C1 describes a clockwise and counterclockwise drivable radial centrifugal pump as a circulating pump in a dishwasher.
  • the utility model document CN 201 722 529 U shows a washing machine comprising a pumping system.
  • the object is achieved by a laundry care appliance with a pumping system, the pumping system having a Suds container with an inlet opening and a drain opening, a line which connects the inlet opening and the drain opening, and a drain pump for pumping washing suds through the pump-around system, with a suction connection, with a pressure chamber, which has a pump-over connection and a pump-out connection, and with an impeller , wherein the drain pump is designed to pump the washing lye in a preferred direction of rotation of the impeller through the pump-over connection piece to the tub, and to pump out the washing suds through the pump-out connection piece in a pump-out direction of rotation of the impeller, the pump-out connection piece and the pump-over connection piece being tangential to the pressure chamber connect.
  • the washing suds are pumped out of the pumping system again through the pumping connection through the line to the tub, or the washing suds are pumped out of the laundry care appliance through the pumping out connection by the pumping-out direction of rotation of the impeller becomes.
  • the drain pump thus combines a pump-over function and a pump-out function in one component.
  • Conventional laundry care appliances with a pump-over system normally use drain pumps that are activated in a single phase and with a mains frequency and do not have a preferred direction of rotation and therefore do not have a pump-out function that is dependent on the direction of rotation.
  • the impeller of the suds pump moves in a preferred direction of rotation, the preferred direction of rotation over time, in order to suck in washing suds from the pumping system through the suction nozzle.
  • the sucked-in detergent is delivered to the pressure chamber of the detergent pump at increased pressure.
  • the washing suds are moved in a circular motion in the pressure chamber and can be pumped out of the pressure chamber through the pump-over nozzle, which adjoins the pressure chamber tangentially. It is crucial here that the pump-over connection tangentially adjoins the pressure chamber in order to ensure that the circular movement of the washing suds in the pressure chamber continues tangentially in the pump-over connection in order to pump the washing suds out of the pressure chamber.
  • the impeller of the drain pump moves in a pumping-out direction of rotation, which is opposite to the preferred direction of rotation over time.
  • the sucked-in wash liquor is moved in the pressure chamber in a rotational movement which is opposite to the rotational movement of the wash liquor in the pressure chamber in the preferred direction of rotation of the impeller over time.
  • the washing suds can be pumped out of the pressure chamber in the direction of pumping rotation through the pump-out nozzle, which also adjoins the pressure chamber tangentially.
  • the use of the drain pump with a pump-over and pump-out function enables simplification and cost reduction when used in laundry care devices, since only one motor with a hydraulic arrangement is used.
  • the drain pump can replace existing drain pumps without changing mechanical interfaces or other elements of the pumping system, such as an inlet or outlet hose.
  • a laundry care device is understood to be a device that is used for laundry care, such as a washing machine or a washer-dryer.
  • a laundry care appliance is understood to mean a household laundry care appliance.
  • a laundry care device that is used as part of housekeeping and is used to treat laundry in normal household quantities.
  • the pressure chamber has a pumping area with the pumping connection and a pumping-out area with the pump-out connection.
  • the separation of pump-over area and pump-out area can preferably be improved by using a partition wall between pump-over area and pump-out area.
  • the partition wall creates a physical separation between the pumping area and the pumping-out area, so that in the case of opposite rotational movements of the washing suds in the pressure chamber, the movement of the washing suds in the pressure chamber after the pumping-around area or after the pumping-out area is blocked.

  • the impeller has a plurality of impeller blades, the impeller blades being curved.
  • the curvature of the impeller blades enables fine-tuning of the impeller blade geometry in order to ensure a particularly advantageous flow movement of the washing liquor in the pressure chamber, in particular to ensure different delivery quantities of washing liquor depending on the direction of rotation of the impeller either through the pump-over connection or to pump through the pump out nozzle.
  • the curved impeller blades can, for example, be designed in such a way that they preferentially convey the washing liquor in the preferred direction of rotation of the impeller to the pump-over connection piece of the pressure chamber conveyed to allow efficient pumping over of the wash liquor in the pumping system.
  • the curved impeller blades can, for example, be designed in such a way that they preferentially transport the washing suds in the pumping-out direction of rotation of the impeller to the pump-out nozzle of the pressure chamber in order to ensure that the washing suds are pumped out effectively from the pump-over system.

  • the function of the suds pump 117 is based on different filling levels of the washing suds in the pump-over system 105 in relation to a pump-over process or a pump-out process. Since the washing suds are no longer bound to the laundry in the washing drum 107 before the pumping out process, but are in the suds container 109 or in the pumping system 105, the fill level in the pumping system 105 before the pumping out process is higher, e.g. 80 cm, than during the pumping out process Circulation process, during which a large part of the suds is bound to the laundry.

  • the drain pump 117 thus achieves an effective separation of the pumping-out process and the pumping-over process depending on the different directions of rotation 145, 147 of the impeller 129 of the pump. Only one common motor has to be used for a pump-out and pump-over system 105 of the laundry care appliance 100, which means that there are no costs, e.g. by dispensing with a further set of cables. Due to the pumping process, there is also no need to seal the tub 109 at the sump, since this function avoids carrying over detergent.
