Definitions

  • the invention relates to a stapler according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method according to the preamble of claim 7.
  • a stapler and a method of the type mentioned are, for example DE 10 2008 034 838 A1 known.
  • the stapler is integrated into a so-called "saddle stitcher", the folded sheets such as folded printed products are separated by being stored on a gathering chain of saddle stitcher, and collects the folded sheets or astride together at least one folding sheet comprehensive Falzbogenan für für astride.
  • the folding sheet arrangements which can also be referred to as collected signatures, are then stapled in the stapler or stitching station of the saddle stitcher or provided with a stitching wire arrangement such as a ring eyelet staple and then optionally fed to a further processing unit for edging, a display or the like.
  • a respective folding sheet arrangement is received on the collecting chain extending along a predetermined track and is entrained by the latter in a conveying direction of the collecting chain.
  • the entrainment of the folded sheet arrangement is realized in that a provided on the gathering chain driver abuts against a rear end in the conveying direction of the folded sheet arrangement.
  • a stapling carriage of the stapling device is drivable to be moved along the track in the conveying direction and against the conveying direction of the collecting chain.
  • a fixing unit is provided in the form of a Falzdrückers, which is adapted to the folded sheet on the collecting chain arrangement on the To fix the stitching carriage, so that the folded sheet assembly is pulled away with a directed in the conveying direction forward movement of the stitching carriage from the entraining driver of the gathering chain by a certain amount in the conveying direction.
  • the stitching carriage moves at a speed greater than a conveying speed of the gathering chain.
  • a stitching unit comprising two stitching heads and two corresponding clincher boxes is also provided, which is suitable for introducing a stitching wire arrangement in the form of two staples into the folded sheet arrangement pulled away from the catch.
  • the position of the folded sheet assembly on the stitching carriage which is not correctable by the fixing unit may be subject to some variation, e.g. caused by variations in the position of the respective driver and tolerances of the components involved collecting chain and stapler.
  • These fluctuations in turn result in a relatively large scattering of stitching wire arrangements. That is, looking at a stack of stitched like signature sheets and comparing the stapling positions of the staples or eyelet clips of the signature assemblies, there is always some offset of up to 2 mm under the signature assemblies. Since the scattering of the stapling positions is a quality feature which is particularly important in eyelet staples, since the folded sheet assemblies provided therewith are provided in e.g. If you want to keep a folder in the same position, it is desirable to minimize this spread or even eliminate it altogether.
  • the DE 10 2008 013 223 A1 discloses a stapler according to the preamble of claim 1 and with a stitching carriage reciprocable along a gathering chain.
  • a displaceably mounted alignment stop is fastened, with which the trailing edge of a folding sheet arrangement transported on the gathering chain is positioned in relation to a stapling head likewise fastened to the stitching carriage.
  • the alignment stop controlled in a working position can be brought, in which it is positively brought from behind to the funded by a stop of the gathering fold sheet arrangement and this pulls away because of its slightly increased speed relative to the gathering chain in the transport direction from the stop of the gathering chain.
  • the alignment stop can be brought from the left, from the top or from the right to the folded sheet arrangement. After the stapling operation, the alignment stop is moved to a parking position in which it no longer has any contact with the folded sheet arrangement. During the movement of the stitching carriage against the transport direction of the gathering chain is the alignment stop in a parking position on the left, top or right of the gathering chain to avoid collision with a subsequent folded sheet arrangement. The further transport of the folded sheet arrangement is again by the stop of the gathering chain.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a trained according to the preamble of claim 1 stapler for in-line stitching a folded sheet and a configured according to the preamble of claim 7 method for stapling a folded sheet arrangement in each case so that a smaller spread of stapling positions similar folding sheet arrangements is guaranteed.
  • a stapling device for stitching a folding sheet arrangement comprising at least one folding sheet, which is taken along on a collecting chain extending along a predetermined track and taken along in a conveying direction of the collecting chain, comprises a stapling carriage which can be driven is to be moved along the track forward in the conveying direction and backwards against the conveying direction of the gathering chain to staple with a stitching carriage provided on the stitching unit the folded sheet assembly.
  • the folded sheet arrangement may comprise a single fold sheet (a folded sheet of a substrate such as a folded and in particular printed paper sheet, a so-called signature) or also a plurality of such fold sheets.
  • the multiple folded sheets preferably form a folded sheet stack as a folded sheet arrangement.
  • an alignment stop is provided on the stitching carriage, which is controlled between an alignment position in which the alignment stop arranged at a predetermined distance from the stapling unit can be brought into contact with a forward movement of the stitching carriage at a rear end in the conveying direction of the folded sheet arrangement, and a parking position is displaced in which the alignment stop can not be brought to rest on the folded-sheet arrangement, ie has no possibility of collision with a folding-sheet arrangement to be stapled.
  • the stapling device is characterized in that the alignment stop is provided on the stapling carriage such that the aligning stop in the alignment position crosses a folded-sheet plane formed by the folded-sheet arrangement and is arranged in the parking position below the folded-sheet plane.
  • the alignment stop adjoins a folding line of the folded sheet arrangement in the alignment position.
  • the alignment stop is located in the alignment position directly or very close to the fold line of the folded sheet assembly, ie directly adjacent to the roof ridge of the gathering chain. Since the fold line represents a particularly stable region of the folded sheet arrangement, it is possible to avoid position fluctuations caused by deformation of the folded sheet arrangement in the contact area.
  • the stapling of the folding sheet assembly is usually done directly on the folding line, tilting of the folded sheet arrangement avoided and thus the stapling position of the folded sheet assembly on the stitching carriage can be more accurately and consistently realized.
  • a fixing unit with a so-called Falzdschreiber is provided on the stapling carriage, which is adapted to fix the folded sheet arrangement on the stapling carriage, and the stapling device has a control device which is arranged, the fixing unit and the alignment stop to control so that the alignment stop is in the alignment position before the fixing unit fixes the folded sheet assembly on the stitching carriage.

  • the alignment stop is preferably in the alignment position, before the fixing unit fixes the folded sheet arrangement on the stitching carriage, by the speed increase of the stitching carriage to the Alignment stop applying the rear boundary of the folded sheet arrangement and thus favors the realization of a consistent stapling position.
  • the control device has a fluid cylinder for driving the displacement of the alignment stop from the parking position into the alignment position and vice versa.
  • the fluid cylinder is preferably designed as a pneumatically operated pneumatic cylinder.
  • the fluid cylinder is mounted on the stapling carriage and the alignment stop is provided on a piston rod of the fluid cylinder and in particular formed directly on this.
  • the alignment stop since a direct drive for the alignment stop is realized, a very short reaction time to a control of the fluid cylinder can be achieved, i.
  • the alignment stop can be spent with very little response delay in its alignment position and in its parking position. This is particularly advantageous because in a stapler of a saddle stitcher is usually worked with a high clock speed.
