Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a handle for a window, a door or the like having a base part adapted to be fixed to the window, the door or the like and a handle which is rotatable about an axis of rotation for actuating the handle with respect to the base part, wherein a locking mechanism is provided is, by means of which the handle is lockable in at least one rotational position with respect to a rotational movement in at least one direction of rotation, and wherein the locking mechanism can be unlocked by a directed to a base member or directed away from the base part displacement movement of the handle.
  • the handle can be, for example, a pivotable rotary handle, which is coupled directly to a rotary section of a drive rod fitting. By pivoting, such a rotary handle can be brought into different positions, such as an open position, a closed position and a tilted position, whereby the rotation of the rotary section effected thereby via further hardware or gear components effects the desired positioning of respective locking elements.
  • the locking mechanism serves to secure the window or door against unauthorized or inadvertent opening as needed.
  • lockable locks for window and door handles are known in which the handle with a key can be locked and unlocked.
  • a pushbutton can be provided on the handle, by the actuation of which the locking mechanism can be unlocked.
  • the easy-to-recognize push button is easy to operate by anyone and therefore hardly any safety effect.
  • Both a lock cylinder and a push button also affect the appearance of the handle. It is particularly important that customers of windows or doors with respect to the optical design of the hardware elements are increasingly demanding.
  • the EP 1 544 383 A1 discloses a fault-proofing for windows or doors, which prevents actuation of the window handle with tilted window.
  • a locking mechanism is provided which can be overcome only by pressing the handle against the window frame.
  • the locking mechanism can be unlocked by a sliding movement of the handle directed towards the base part or directed away from the base part.
  • the locking mechanism can therefore be unlocked by pressing the handle or by pulling on the handle.
  • a user must thus press the handle against the window before pivoting it or from the window pull away, so that the window or door wing is secured against immediate opening by turning the handle.
  • there is also some protection against unauthorized opening as a user unfamiliar with the mechanism does not recognize an unlocking device and therefore assumes that the window or door is generally locked.
  • the appearance of the handle is not affected by unlocking elements such as push buttons.
  • unlocking the locking mechanism unlocking movement of the handle by means of an insertable between the handle and a wing of the window, the door or the like insert is selectively blocked. In such a blockage, the handle can not be moved and the window or the door is generally locked.
  • the locking mechanism is unlocked exclusively by a directed to the base part displacement movement of the handle. This is advantageous insofar as an accidental unlocking of the handle is excluded by a dangling to this child.
  • the handle may be biased into a lock position not unlocking the shift position to ensure that the handle is always locked without active sliding movement.
  • An unlocking sliding movement of the handle relative to the base part is due to the bias opposite a defined resistance.
  • this resistance For example, be chosen so large that it can not be overcome by a toddler.
  • the handle is made in one piece. This saves manufacturing costs and accommodates the visual appearance.
  • the displacement movement of the handle is substantially parallel to the axis of rotation.
  • the handle For opening the sash, the handle must therefore be pressed first, for example, and then rotated.
  • This principle is known, for example, from child-resistant bottle caps.
  • the sequence of movements is comparatively simple for a trained user.
  • a further embodiment of the invention provides that the base part has a bearing surface for engagement with a wing of the window, the door or the like, wherein the axis of rotation extends substantially perpendicular to the contact surface.
  • a handle is particularly easy to integrate into existing hardware systems.
  • a particular advantage here is that on the drive rod assembly, no changes are required to give the window or door handle a blocking function in the context of the invention.
  • the handle by means of the locking mechanism in at least two rotational positions can be blocked, wherein the locking mechanism in each of the at least two rotational positions by the sliding movement of the handle is unlocked.
  • a special embodiment of the invention provides in this case that the handle by means of the locking mechanism in each rotational position can be blocked.
  • the handle can only be locked in a closed position, in an open position and / or in a tilted position of the window or the door.
  • the handle by means of the locking mechanism in at least one rotational position with respect to a rotational movement in both directions of rotation can be blocked.
  • it can be ensured, for example, that the handle can not be pivoted back from a tilted position into an open position without a prior displacement movement.
  • the locking mechanism may further be adapted to block a rotational movement of the handle, starting from a basic position in an opening direction at least up to a first open position and only after unlocking by the sliding movement, the rotational movement permit. After unlocking the locking mechanism by the sliding movement, a further rotational movement of the handle in the opening direction to a second open position as needed only after a renewed unlocking or unlocking be possible.
  • This is particularly advantageous when the first opening position is an opening position enabling a rotary movement of the sash and the second opening position is a tilting position enabling a tilting movement of the sash. In such a configuration, if the rotational position has already been reached, blocking the further rotation of the handle, for example to prevent a tilting position of the blade, is generally unnecessary.
  • the locking mechanism may also be adapted to allow a rotational movement of the handle, starting from a basic position in an opening direction to a first open position and to block only a further rotational movement of the handle in the opening direction, wherein the handle after unlocking the locking mechanism by the sliding movement is further rotatable up to a second opening position in the opening direction.
  • Such a configuration is particularly suitable for so-called "English windows", in which the first open position of a tilted position of the wing and the second open position corresponds to a rotational position of the wing. In this case, it may be desirable to make it possible for anyone to tilt the wing, but to make the complete opening of the wing dependent on prior unlocking of the handle.
  • the invention also relates to a fitting for rotating and / or tilting a sash of a window, a door or the like with a control element that can be driven for locking and releasing the sash and a handle as described above for manually operating the control.
  • the fitting may be designed in particular for rotating and tilting the wing, wherein the locking mechanism of the handle is adapted to block a rotational movement of the handle, starting from a basic position in an opening direction at least up to a first open position and only after unlocking by the sliding movement, the rotational movement permit. After unlocking the locking mechanism by the sliding movement, a further rotational movement of the handle in the opening direction to a second open position as needed only after a renewed unlocking or unlocking be possible.
  • an alternative fitting according to the invention for tilting and rotating the wing may be formed, wherein the locking mechanism of the handle is adapted to allow a rotational movement of the handle, starting from a closed position in an opening direction to a tilted position and only one more To lock rotational movement of the handle in the opening direction, wherein the handle after an unlocking of the locking mechanism by the sliding movement to a rotational position in the opening direction is further rotatable.
  • the invention relates to a window, a door or the like with a frame, a wing movable relative to the frame and a handle attached to the wing as described above.
  • Fig. 1 to 3 illustrated window comprises a designed for wall or roof mounting frame 11 and a movable to be arranged in the frame 11 wings 13.
  • a fitting arrangement is provided in the Fig. 1 to 3 but not shown.
  • the wing 13 comprises a sash 15, which holds a glass element 17.
  • a handle 19 which comprises a fixed to the wing frame 15 base member 21 and a handle 23.
  • the handle 23 is pivotable about an axis of rotation D for actuating the handle 19 relative to the base part 21.
  • the pivotable handle 23 engages a control of the fitting assembly to drive it to lock and release the wing 13.
  • the handle 23 in an opening direction R first in the in Fig. 2 shown rotational position and then in the in Fig. 3 shown tilted position are pivoted.
  • the invention also works with so-called "English windows", in which the handle 23, starting from the in Fig. 1 shown basic position in the opening direction R first in the tilted position and only then in the rotational position is pivotable.
  • a non-specifically illustrated locking mechanism ensures that the handle 23 in at least one rotational position with respect to a rotational movement in the opening direction R is lockable.
  • Such locking mechanisms are generally known to those skilled in the art and may for example be based on an engagement of a locking element mounted in the handle 23 in a locking receptacle of the base part 21.
  • the locking mechanism can be unlocked by pressing the handle 23 parallel to the axis of rotation D in a directed towards the base member 21 direction of displacement V, as in Fig. 4 indicated by an arrow.
  • the handle 23 is in this case counter to the direction of displacement V by a Not shown spring device biased in the locking mechanism not unlocking starting position.
  • Fig. 4 It can also be seen that the axis of rotation D extends at right angles to a planar contact surface 25 of the base part 21.
  • a user wishing to rotate, tilt and / or shift the wing 13 relative to the frame 11 must first press the handle 23 against the wing 13 with a defined force overcoming the bias to unlock the locking mechanism. Only after this unlocking the user can the handle 23 in the usual manner in the first open position according to Fig. 2 rotate. The window can then be opened by turning the wing 13. Should a tilting of the wing 13 be desired, the handle 23 on the in Fig. 2 shown first opening position out in the in Fig. 3 shown second opening position to rotate, with no further unlocking of the locking mechanism, so no renewed pressing the handle 23 in the direction of displacement V, is required for this further rotation.
  • the locking mechanism provide a rotational movement of the handle 23 from the in Fig. 1 illustrated basic position to the first opening position according to Fig. 2 allows and thus allows tilting of the wing 13 without prior unlocking. Only a further rotational movement of the handle 23, starting from the in Fig. 2 shown first opening position up to the in Fig. 3 illustrated second opening position is preferably blocked by the locking mechanism in an English window, so that in contrast to a tilting of the wing 13, a turning of the wing 13 is not possible without prior unlocking by moving the handle 23.
  • the invention makes it possible to secure the window against unauthorized or unintentional opening, in particular preventing the locking of the locking mechanism by small children due to the biasing force of the spring device.
  • This form of "quasi-obstruction" can be particularly beneficial for doors of waiting rooms, kindergartens and nursing homes.
