Um eine möglichst angenehme Bedienung der Schneidmaschine 10.4 zu ermöglichen, erfolgt im vorliegenden Beispielsfall zunächst eine Verschiebung der Aufnahmeeinheit 40.4 vergleichbar dem Herausziehen einer Schublade. Bei dieser Verschiebung wird die Aufnahmeeinheit 40.4 um einen gewissen Betrag angehoben, so dass die Aufnahmeeinheit für den Benutzer bequem zu erreichen ist, ohne dass sich dieser herunterbücken müsste.     - having a base frame (36) to which the slicing machine (10, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4) is fastened in particular in a releasable manner, wherein at least parts of the slicing machine (10, 10.2, 10.4) are able to be moved out of the base frame (36) at least to some extent,
    - having a receiving unit (40, 40.2, 40.4) for the foodstuff (18) to be sliced,
    - characterized in that
    - the receiving unit (40, 40.2, 40.4) is able to be moved out of the base frame (36) at least to some extent such that the slicing machine is transferable from a closed position into an open position,
    - the foodstuff to be sliced is introduced in the open position of the slicing machine,
    - the foodstuff is sliced in the closed position of the slicing machine.
