Definitions
- the present invention relates to a system for coating a substrate with at least one organic lacquer layer.
- a lacquer layer by means of spraying.
- the substrate surface is typically cleaned. This can be done for example by means of air pressure and / or with means for ionizing the surface or by irradiating the surface with a liquid medium, such as water or aqueous or alcoholic or solvent-containing solution, or with a solid, such as blasting material or CO2, or by immersion of the substrates in an aqueous or alcoholic or solvent-containing solution, possibly under the action of waves, such as ultrasound or microwaves.
- a liquid medium such as water or aqueous or alcoholic or solvent-containing solution
- a solid such as blasting material or CO2
- waves such as ultrasound or microwaves.
- the actual lacquer layer is then applied, for example by spraying a lacquer dispersion.
- a step during which the already coated substrate is baked This can be done by heating in circulating air and / or by exposure to infrared radiation (IR) at, for example, 50-80 ° C.
- IR infrared radiation
- the solvent usually present in the paint dispersion is essentially evaporated.
- this curing takes place in a subsequent solvent evaporation step.
- coatings are in use which are based on solvent-dispersed organic substances.
- Suitable solvents are aqueous solutions, organic or inorganic solvents.
- the paints can also be water-based.
- the crosslinking can take place thermally or radiation-curing.
- FIG. 1 shows a corresponding system with substrates to be painted 31, 33, 35, 37, 39 and 41.
- an elongated chamber 1 is divided into a plurality of, separated by doors 3, 5, 7, 9 sections 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 , wherein in each section the apparatus required for the step to be operated there are provided.
- an entrance lock 21 At the beginning of the chamber there is an entrance lock 21 and at the end of the chamber there is an exit lock 23.
- the substrates to be painted are transported by means of a transport device 25 into the chamber and to the different stations, and out of the chamber.
- the transport device 25 is usually operated continuously or intermittently, wherein the substrates 31, 33, 35, 37, 39 and 41 are all moved simultaneously. In the event that some substrates in one of the separate sections 11, 13, 15, 17 or 19 are to be handled without travel, as long as others continue to be transported, those substrates to be closed are to be separated from the transport device 25 by suitable mechanisms; As a result, the transport device 25 is much more complicated and expensive.
- This transport device 25 forms an inseparable unit over the entire paint shop with a further disadvantage that the divided sections 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 are insufficiently separated from each other; Accordingly, the individual sections 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 are increased, with the disadvantage that the entire system must be designed significantly larger.
- each section 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 the fresh air supply and in the lower part a take-off device is usually provided, which draws air and gases from the chamber sections and a cleaning system (not shown) supplies.
- a take-off device is usually provided, which draws air and gases from the chamber sections and a cleaning system (not shown) supplies.
- the individual process chambers 305, 307, 309, 311 can be very well separated in this case, but other significant disadvantages remain, such as the size of the entire paint shop and that the transport device continues to form an indivisible unit.
- Other drawbacks are added, such as the overhead required for handling equipment, the extended size of the equipment for erecting these handling devices and, in particular, the need to form a larger space 321 around the complete conveyor with exceptional room quality in terms of dust-free and air cleanliness.
- the corresponding air treatment is very expensive, not only investment for the purchase of the equipment, but also the increased operating costs, mainly for energy and in the field of filter technology.
- the present invention is therefore based on the object to provide a paint shop, with which the above-mentioned disadvantages are overcome.
- each of these modules preferably comprises a Frischluftzufarssel- in its upper part and an exhaust device for air and gases in the lower part and also in its lower part a transport device.
- Each of these modules includes an entrance door and an exit door.
- door is meant in the context of this description any type of shutter mechanism for an opening through which the substrates are to be transported in or out of the respective module.
- the individual modules are then strung together in such a way that the exit door of a module has in each case connection with the entrance door of the adjoining module.
- connection is meant here that a carrier loaded with substrates can be transported from the exit door of a module to the entrance door of a subsequent module.
- the exit door of a module is arranged in the immediate vicinity of the entrance door of the adjoining module or form the exit and entrance door a unit with a common drive. Only the entrance door of the first module of the system and the exit door of the last module of the system are isolated, ie not in communication with a door of another module.
- On input and / or exit door may be omitted according to the meaning of this invention in individual modules, if the respective process step allows it and / or the air flow conditions are selected so that a mutual contamination or contamination or carryover of impurities between the individual modules can be avoided.
- the modules are each controlled individually by a central control unit.
- each module receives its own control components, where all plant components to be controlled are connected; the so decentralized control components are then to connect to the central control via a simple cable or via wireless communication öder possibly via a master-slave configuration to control.
- This construction according to the invention has the significant advantage that only the components belonging to each module are electrically connected to one another and therefore significantly less cable material and installation effort are required; Another advantage is that there is no need to install a central control cabinet.
- FIG. 1 shows a painting inline construction according to the prior art
- FIG. 2 shows a paint system according to the invention in a modular design
- FIG. 3 shows a painting plant in modular design with discontinuous operation.
- FIG. 2 shows a paint shop 201 according to the invention in a modular design. Shown are the modules for the input cleaning 203, inter alia, by means of ionizing radiation 211, for the coating 205 by means of a spray nozzle on a robot arm 213, for the removal of the solvent (baking) 207 by heating by means of IR radiator 215 and for the crosslinking of the paint ( Curing) 209 by means of UV light from a lamp 217.
- Each of these modules each includes its own controller 221, 223, 225, 227, which in turn are controlled by a central controller 229.
- the module controls control the transport devices 231, 233, 235 and 237 arranged in the lower region of the module as well as the entrance doors 241, 243, 245, 247 and the exit doors 251, 253, 255, 257. If the processing steps of two adjacent modules do not adversely affect one another, it may be possible to dispense with the corresponding doors. It is also not absolutely necessary that where one module joins the other module, both the exit door of the one module and the entrance door of the other module are realized.
- the module controls control the functional units such as spray nozzle and robotic arm 213, IR emitter 215, UV lamp 217 and also the aerators 261, 263, 265 and 267 provided on each module.
- each module is a module that essentially functions autonomously for itself, the interaction of which is controlled by the central controller 229.
- the to be painted Substrates are in the FIG. 1 not referenced, but there are indicated by area hatching.
- a transport device can be used as shown.
- the entire system including the input and output device can be designed as a circular process, so that at one point, possibly accomplished by a robot and / or machines, the loading of the substrates to be coated and the removal of the coated substrates can be done.
- This pure transport route does not have to be realized in a clean room environment.
